Hey y’all, it’s Bre here, and this week, I’m pulling back the curtain to let you in on the big changes happening with Brown Girl Self-Care as well as with me. I recently made the decision to close down the newsletter, and today, I’m talking about why—and what’s coming next.
I’ll be sharing how this next chapter of Brown Girl Self-Care will include three areas that are deeply important to me and, I think, to you too:
Meet me on Zoom for "Gather and Be" on Monday, November 4th @ 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern. Link Here
In this episode of the Brown Girl Self-Care Podcast, I'm talking about 'creasing the page' as a way to engage fully with life especially for those of us that are afraid to step out and be seen or make mistakes. I sill struggle with perfectionism, the fear of making mistakes, and in the past these fears have held me back from leaving my mark.
I want to encourage you to embrace imperfection, show up authentically and take small steps towards your goals while aligning yourself with curiousity and the willingness to step out of your comfort zone.
Hey y’all, it’s Bre here with a special check-in episode of Brown Girl Self-Care. With election season in full swing and November 5th quickly approaching, I’m holding space for Black women who are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or even terrified by the current climate. In this episode, I share responses from our Threads community and offer practical tips to stay grounded, empowered, and resilient during this time.
We discuss taking things one step at a time, preparing for uncertainty, decentering men, and prioritizing our well-being above all. Remember, you are not alone—we’re in this together. Tune in for a moment of support, reflection, and solidarity.
As the end of the year approaches, it's time to talk about something crucial: taking time off. In this episode of Brown Girl Self-Care, Bre is breaking down why Black women need to prioritize their health by using their personal time off (PTO), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and short-term disability. Many of us let our PTO go unused or feel guilty about asking for time away from work—but not taking time for yourself has real consequences. In 2024 we are going to lay claim toL the time we are leaving on the table.
In this episode, let's chat about the delicate line between protecting your peace and speaking up for yourself, especially as a Black woman navigating a world shaped by trauma. I'm sharing my thoughts on when speaking up is necessary and how to distinguish between fear and empowerment. We are reclaiming our voices, healing with compassion, and balancing self-care in a society that often tries to silence us so let's go.
It's going to be one of those episodes, today. I'm sharing about my perimenopause/menopause journey, signs that I'm actually in perimenopause so that you can have a "heads up" as well as giving you a few tips to help get you through when it comes for you.
In this episode of the podcast, Bre is sharing a reminder straight from "corporate life."
Hey, hey! There is a ton of talk out there about narcissists but what does it really mean to possibly be one, or be in relationship with one? What the heck even really is a narcissist? If you've ever wondered, or want to learn more about what you can do to protect yourself, this is the episode for you.
