Some people call it a pecking order because apparently it’s a chicken phenomenon too. It’s starts with bullies in school. A pursuit of power and leverage. In some cases those middle school bullies don’t grow up. You may think of power as something that someone else has, but every time you tell your kids that they can’t have dessert until they finish their meatloaf you are exercising power. Every time you withhold a tip from a slow waitress you are exercising power.  What you do when you have the power matters, and it can literally make the world better or worse.
