Sam Smith And SZA Want You To Check Your Fatphobia

On today’s episode of Diet Start Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren review a strange new trend on social media where people are joking about having just an iced coffee for breakfast or an espresso martini for dinner. What is the punchline here, people?? Then, they launch into a Food-Pinion segment brought to you by Impossible Foods where Lauren declares Impossible meatballs to be just as good if not better than regular meatballs. Sure, this is a branded segment but Lauren is prepared to die on this meatball hill. Finally, the two close us out by reviewing Sam Smith’s bold statement on the Met Gala’s red carpet about the need for more inclusive sizing. A clip of this moment was posted to the Everything’s Fine Instagram page and it REALLY pissed off some internet trolls (go to therapy plz, internet) but SZA clapped back at the fatphobia in the comment section. Thank you SZA, please come on the show, we love you!

Lauren Goes Back To The Gym

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Lauren gives Emily an update on her return to the GYM. Even though there was some anxiety about working out in public as someone in a bigger body, Lauren was pleasantly surprised that people at the gym really couldn’t care less. Praise be. We close the episode out with Lauren reviewing her gym goalz which include improved mood, energy, sleep, longevity and more power when it comes to the bane of her existence, subway stairs. Turns out there are plenty of reasons to work out that aren’t weight loss; wish someone told us when we were teens!

Do I Actually Need To Take My Vitamins?

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren are chatting about lipid panels and all the feels that come up when you have to get your blood drawn. Don't worry, according to Lauren's therapist, it's normal to feel like your 8 year old self when the needles come out. Then, they talk about taking vitamins and how epically confusing it all is especially for women in their 30’s who want to stay on top of their health. Finally, they close us out with a Taste Test of some allegedly nutrient dense chewable vitamins. (No, not gummies unfortunately.) Tune in to hear their reactions to what it actually tastes like to chew on some turmeric and ginger.

Can We Please Stop Overanalyzing The Bodies Of Female Pop Stars?

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren discuss Billie Eilish’s recent interview with Rolling Stone where she talks about how she uses sex to decompress, either with a partner or solo. This leads into a discussion about the public's pervasive and CREEPY obsession with overanalyzing the bodies of pop stars. There’s a reason why Eilish is known for her oversized looks, and it’s not just because they’re trendy af. Nobody is off limits including Lana Del Rey, Selena Gomez, and even Taylor Swift, and let's not forget every millennial woman’s Roman Empire, the iconic tabloid photo of Jessica Simpson in high-waist jeans. Emily and Lauren talk about how this gave us all a collective sense of dysmorphia, and close on how it specifically has affected their own senses of self.

Is This Brandy Hellville Doc Gonna Ruin Shopping For Me?

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren recap HBO Max’s “Brandy Hellville & The Cult Of Fast Fashion” This brand has been a hot topic of discussion on this very podcast in episodes past and now it’s a cultural conversation so of course we had to dive in. Beyond that, we learn about the racist, antisemitic, fatphobic and sexist business practices that the owner utilizes. The two point out the brand’s evil genius methods of how they were able to bottle and sell the specific feminine teenage desire of belonging. So now what do we do? Tune in!
