Because this was recorded during the SAG-AFTRA strike, we edited out chunks of this episode where Michael talked about Smallville and various other shows he's been on. Enjoy this original cut.
Original Air Date: Sep 7th 2023
Candice is joined by actor, comedian, and just an all-arounder of a human being, Michael Rosenbaum, to discuss how he has worked to become the best version of himself over the decades - both while in and at a distance from the industry. From his breakout role on a comic book superhero series, to finally directing and producing his own passion projects (like his podcast!) was a transformative experience in itself. They talk about the power of therapy, knowing who your real friends are, and yes, they briefly mention the fact that Candice never called back all those years ago after a few dates.

Candice is joined by advocate and Democratic Candidate for Tennessee's District 75, Allie Phillips, to give vital context to her current campaign and share her lived experience that brought her to politics.
Allie always dreamt of being a mother and she was blessed with her first daughter, Adalie. She was equally ecstatic when she became pregnant with her second daughter, Miley. But things took a sudden turn for the worst when at 19-weeks pregnant, Allie was told she had an nonviable fetus; Miley’s organs unfortunately didn’t develop correctly and the longer Allie stayed pregnant, the more at risk they both were. However, due to Tennessee's anti-abortion laws, Allie was not allowed medical care or guidance by her home state doctors to terminate her pregnancy.
With no time to even properly grieve, Allie had to seek help and support through her online community which brought her to a clinic in New York where she learned Miley had already passed in her womb. After being put into the lowest of lows, Allie vows to be the same pillar of support and understanding that she had from those both near and far around her.

Candice is joined by trauma expert and narcissist abuse coach, Dr. Melissa Kalt, who is a triple-board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Lipidology. In 2018, she made the important decision to leave traditional medicine and make it her life’s mission to help others identity and navigate a healthier life from narcissist-abusive relationships. Dr. Kalt has designed the very service and guide that she wished she had when breaking free from her own traumatic relationships. With it, victims can achieve self-actualization and hopefully spot the problematic patterns of behavior in order to form stronger boundaries with those around them.

Candice is joined by a licensed psychoanalyst and author, Dr. Robin Stern, to break down the concept of gaslighting. At this point, we’ve all heard the word thrown out one way or the other - it was Webster Dictionary's Word of the Year in 2022 after all. But do we actually understand what it means and where the word even comes from? Dr. Robin Stern not only has been researching this manipulation tactic for decades but has unfortunately even lived it herself, making her a real expert in the matter. In this discussion, Candice and Dr. Stern explore the ways in which we can refind our loss of self-trust and detect the warning signs that we may be being gaslit before we’re in far too deep. Happy Valentine’s Day

Candice is joined by comedian and author, Sadia Azmet, to discuss all her love for sex and jokes. Not necessarily at the same time but again, to teach their own. One thing that might visibly stand out about Sadia is the fact that she’s also a hijab-wearing Muslim woman. However, sick of being put in a box and the presumptions on her true nature, Sadia gets honest in her new book “Sex Bomb” about the complicated relationship she has with her religion, sexual identity, and the social pressures she chooses to reject. And she’s quite the laugh while doing it.

In this episode, Candice is joined by traveler and writer Adrien Behn to discuss how she discovered herself through traveling at different stages of life. They break down the ways in which patriarchy discourages women traveling (nonetheless solo) and how even bumps in the road can lead to a more independent, confident sense of self. Adrien not only tells her real lived experiences from her times abroad in her interview series but also hosts a narrative podcast based on the true stories of two extraordinary female journalists who raced around the world in the 19th century.
