Experience True Freedom from Clutter
Kick procrastination to the curb with todays organisational hack... MIGHT AS WELL.
It doesn't need motivation. It doesn't need conviction. It doesn't need perfection. It's a lazy girl way of doing things that you'll be glad you did without having to think about them in advance.
For example:
🤷🏽♀️While I'm here I might as well take out the rubbish from the car
🤷🏽♀️While I'm here I might as well take out the jeans I don't wear
🤷🏽♀️While I'm here I might as well go through my bathers
🤷🏽♀️While I'm here I might as well empty the dishwasher
🤷🏽♀️While I'm walking past I might as well hang up those clothes
🤷🏽♀️While I'm think of it I might as well text my friend to let her know I have baby clothes for her
🤷🏽♀️While I'm walking past might as well pick up the rubbish
🤷🏽♀️While I'm here I might as well put the blankets away
🤷🏽♀️While I'm think of it, I might as well re-order the medications
🤷🏽♀️While I'm here I might as well wipe down the bath
🤷🏽♀️While I'm here I might as well restock the toilet paper

Ever been struck by the complete opulence of consumerism? Like smacked in the face by it to the point where it makes you feel sick in the stomach?
Consumerism is "a social and economic order that encourages the acquisition of goods and services in ever-increasing amounts". Consuming and purchasing things you don't need in compounding quantities... will not make you happy or satisfied or fulfilled. It will cause you stress as you have to earn the money to pay for these things, then store them in your already full home.
Today explore the traps of consumerism as well as some alternatives that don't require you to completely give up buying things but allow you to be intentional in how you consume with you being the boss, without consumerism dictating your choices.
What else could you do with the time and money you mindlessly spend on the ever-increasing acquisition of goods?

Harnessing the power of chaining can revolutionise the way you declutter in your home. Sometimes you need to embrace the magic of chaining, and other times you need to put some boundaries around it to harness the power
Do you find that you start one thing and then it leads to another and then another and so on and so forth? Do you end up half finishing many jobs? For you, harnessing chaining might be your key to success in decluttering.
Or do you find you're paralysed on where to start? If so, going with the flow of chaining can be powerful, allow one task to lead into the next can reduce overwhelm and procrastination!
One of the keys to harnessing chaining is to remember to close the loop (have a listen to that episode too!)

Does your kitchen have THAT drawer in it? The one where the potato masher makes it hard for the drawer to close and where you keep your melted egg flips just in case you might one day need it? Does it have broken tongs, unused egg cups and gadgets that you thought you'd use... but definitely don't?
Today I encourage you to join me in the kitchen to do some decluttering with me. I go through and declutter many items from that kitchen drawer in my house, and wonder what you might find in yours...

Whenever you declutter, you are internally weighing up the balance between comfort and inconvenience. Every item has both comfort and inconvenience to consider when you think about whether to keep or go. If you keep it, you have the comfort of having it available in the future, but the inconvenience of having to store, maintain and have the item take up the space.
There are so many things to think about that this has become a 2 part series!
Living a life free from clutter brings a level of comfort because the positive impacts are you have a more welcoming home, you save money and you save time too. But it does come at the cost of inconvenience of not having instant gratification of having something the minute you desire it. At every step, you have a choice to make, and you need to consider the cost and responsibility of each decision.
