This is a podcast meant to bring about meaningful conversations on fly fishing, creativity, business, and everything in between. The goal of this podcast is to highlight the importance of how creativity and outdoor recreation can lead to a better life. In some episodes, we will strictly talk about fly fishing-related topics but we want to dive deeper than that. We want to better understand why people do what they do and bring about tangible information that our audience can take and apply to their next adventure. I don't claim to be a professional in any of the fields above, but I hope to learn as we go and learn from the guests that we bring onto the show. This podcast is designed for you--the audience--and I hope that we can bring about conversations that will help elevate your game in whatever field that may be. This past summer, we teamed up with talented filmmakers Will Phelps, as well as, Chase & Aimee Bartee of Tight Loops to document and produce a collaborative film "Hope & High Water."Â The film chronicles our quest to find the Yellowstone Cutthroat trout deep in the heart of their native range. After premiering the film to over 500 people in Salt Lake City and Denver, the crew sat down to relive their August trip and explore the inner workings of the film and the logic behind using the "Pay what you think is fair" model.

My buddy  Will Phelps & I spent 4 days fly fishing & living out of his van in Canada this summer. We explored old & new creeks and stumbled on some of the best fishing of the summer. Like any fishing trip, many things did not go as planned and we had our fair share of sketchy events including a massive hail storm while mid-way through our float trip. We dive into the whole trip and share a lot that wasn't covered in the full episodes. Sit back and enjoy!

Brent and I link up with our buddy Steve to take another swing at chasing stoneflies in the west. This trip cam about super last minute but we heard reports of salmon flies so we packed the car up and headed to Idaho. From having my car break down to riverside camping in a thunderstorm, we do a deep dive on the trip and breakdown what went into this crazy couple of days. Enjoy!Â

Just a few weeks ago, I didn’t even own a bike. But here we were, climbing up an old service road in the middle of nowhere Idaho and I was starting to feel the reality of my inexperience. We were here to fish, but truthfully it was hard to even think about fishing with what was ahead of us. We were deep in bear country with no cell service, no support vehicle, and no option of turning around. It was just us, our bikes, and hopefully everything we needed to survive for the next six days.Â
This is the full story of that trip.

Today is a special episode featuring none other than my Mom. My mom was the first one to introduce me to fly fishing and she’s been my number 1 supporter of Wild Fly since Day 1. Just last year, she left her job to come work for me full time to handle our merch fulfillment operations. So anytime one of you orders a piece of gear from us, she is the one handling it. In this episode, we talk about what it’s been like for her to step into this position, especially with me living in Utah now. We also dive into our family lineage in fly fishing, her upbringing in the outdoors and what the early days of Wild Fly looked like. I have always wanted to have a conversation like this with her and I’m excited to share it with all of you.Â

On this episode of the podcast, we sit down with Alex Henderson to breakdown our week of fishing in Alaska. Alex is a Wild Fly subscriber who originally reached out to us last year about making a film in Alaska. He was a prominent character in our latest Alaska film and he's turned into a great friend. We talk about what our week in Alaska really looked like, our day to day schedule and some off-camera shenanigans that didn't make the film.Â

In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Bob Ledda of All Alaska Outdoors & Alex Henderson. Bob is an Alaskan Bush Pilot, Physician, & Fly Fishing Lodge Owner. Alex is a Wild Fly subscriber who connected us with Bob and helped make our Alaska trip happen. We were fortunate enough to stay at All Alaska Outdoors, this past June, and fish with Bob. If you've seen our recent Alaska film then you know exactly what we're talking about. Bob is truly one of the most fascinating guests we've had on the podcast. His passion for life is contagious and it was fascinating learning about how he became a bush pilot, physician and lodge owner over the last 30 years. We hope you enjoy this episode and to learn more about Bob & the All Alaska Outdoors operation, visit: www.allalaska.com
