3 Things to Do When You’re Having a Bad Day

I was having a bad day when I recorded this episode.

You know those mornings when the world feels against you? The kids are feral, you bump into every doorway possible and then your clothes get stuck on the handle and you nearly lose your mind.

That was me today so instead of sitting in a bad mood, I decided to get my microphone out and walk you through how to survive a bad day, as a reminder to both myself and to you.

We’re not perfect and sometimes we need to remember that it’s not a bad life, it’s just a bad day.

    You’ll hear:

✨ A powerful quote that serves as my reset button

✨ An exercise to work through what you CAN and CAN’T control

✨ How to reset your environment when you can’t leave the house

✨ Journal prompts that will help shift your perspective and mindset

    … and so much more

The Wake-Up Call You NEED to Hear

The other day I was on Instagram and I saw a post that called me out so badly I started crying after reading the first line.

It is so easy to get swept up with everything happening in your life - from problems at your job to being the strong one for your kids and keeping a tidy home… Sometimes you don’t even know it’s happening until you realise you haven’t laughed in months.

I’m not going to give too much away before you listen but it’s a reminder that I think all of us need to hear now more than ever.

    You’ll hear:

The eye-opening realisation triggered by that one post

Questions you can ask yourself when you’re feeling overwhelmed and stressed

Things you can do this week to SLOW DOWN and be more present with your family

    … and so much more

🎧 If you’ve always wanted to start journaling but aren’t sure how check out this episode here.

🎧 Thinking about cutting down your screen time? We’ve got you covered with this episode.

🎧 Take a moment to breathe by listening to this episode I recorded with the incredible Nicola Laye about breathwork.

And if you’re in need of a To Do List we’ve got you covered, this is the exact one I use alongside my planner and a thank you for being part of the Stephing Up Community you can use your exclusive code STEPHINGUP for 15% off at @stephpaseplanners. Visit stephpaseplanners.com.au

The Hot Mess Hotline: Getting Out of a Slump TOGETHER

Mercury is in retrograde and I swear I knew it before I even googled it. Everyone and their mum is caught up in this collective slump right now and we’re all just in this weird headspace. We’re dealing with too much stuff, not feeling motivated, eating badly and feeling tired.

When you’re in a slump, it’s so easy to move into a reactive state - to try and tackle a million things on your to-do list and then bully yourself when you just can’t get it done. But we are NOT doing that this year.

This year, we are talking to ourselves with love, we are not making excuses for ourselves but allowing ourselves to REST, and we are taking steps to help feel like ourselves again.

We are in this together 💪

    You’ll hear:

The three habits I’m doing to kick the slump

Suggestions for carving out more 'me time' in your busy schedule

An exercise to identify what's not working in your life and what you need MORE of

    … and so much more

Journaling helps me SO much, and if you’re feeling exhausted then I couldn’t recommend it more. I’ve done a whole episode on how to get started, which you can listen to here. Queue up after this ep 💕

5 of My Toxic Traits and Habits

Your girl is REALLY outing herself in this episode … I’m telling you my top 5 toxic traits and habits that I have worked through previously and am STILL finding myself getting caught up in on a day-to-day basis. Especially given the current season I’m in…

And I think that being aware of these is key - you don’t need to have all of the solutions on how to fix them (that’s coming in future episodes!) but take this episode as an opportunity to stop living life on autopilot, to call yourself out on your toxic habits and challenge why you are doing this.

    You’ll hear:

✨ The toxic habit I’ve started doing again and it is NOT what you think 😮‍💨

✨ A habit SO many of us think we NEED to do to be productive, but is actually terrible for you

✨ The habit I started after I became a Mum, and still see so many other people do

    …and so much more.

The Hot Mess Hotline: How to Get Your Partner to Help Out Around the House

Welcome to the very first episode of the Hot Mess Hotline and oh my goodness I'm SO excited to start this series.

There's nothing I love more than chatting with you guys, and I knew from the start of this show that I wanted to use it to truly help you guys not just with advice and hacks but talking through real-life problems.

And what's better than to kick off the series with one of my most asked questions: how can I get my partner to jump on board with some of the reset habits?

Let me just say: I have been there. Ryan is the opposite of Stephing… he's more like Ryaning… Which is making a mess (love you doll). BUT using the tips I'm talking about today, Ryan and I have worked out our own strategy to tackle the chores without nagging, and now we're a better team than ever 💕

    You’ll hear:

How to bring up the chores and reset conversation WITHOUT stirring up resentment

How to re-phrase "I hate you leaving your sh*t everywhere" nicely (bc we are zen in 2024) 🧘‍♀️

Tips on how to let go… and focus on the outcome

The easiest way to split the chores!

This will only work for healthy relationships, so if you are in that situation please seek help. 💕

How did the conversation go? Good? Great!

Let's get started on how to do a monthly reset, and the best way to reset your home.

☎️ Feeling like a hot mess? Girl, I've been there 😂 Let's talk about it! Send me your questions/thoughts/feelings/anything really over on the Stephing Up IG page @stephingup and I'll talk about it in my next episode of The Hot Mess Hotline!

My ADHD Journey: The Good, the Bad and the Chaotic ✨

Did you know that some of the top CEOS, innovators and artists in the world have ADHD?

When I was 5 years old, I was diagnosed with ADD and anxiety straight off the bat. But only recently have I learnt that my anxiety is a symptom of my ADHD. And so many things I thought were just quirks (I’m looking at you clumsiness, forgetfulness & always being late) were manifestations of ADHD.

Science has come a lot further in this field, especially how ADHD shows in women so I wanted to sit down and chat with you guys about how I was diagnosed, how it has impacted my life (both good and bad) and what I’m doing now to ease the noise in my head. 😮‍💨

This has been one of my most highly requested topics and I feel like after this episode, everything I do is going to make so much more sense to you guys!

    You’ll hear:

Why ADHD has been a blessing in some ways

Tips on how you can ease your symptoms

Why it could be your ADHD and NOT just your hormones after having kids

Ways to help manage your forgetfulness at work
