At The Get Rich Slow Club, we’re always looking to bring you actionable insights on investing. This episode, we’re taking a closer look at two high-growth ETFs that could be key to building a secure and prosperous future: Vanguard’s VDHG and BetaShares' DHHF.
These two funds offer compelling options for different investor types, from those seeking a bit more stability to those going all-in on growth. On one side, we have VDHG, with a small bond allocation for a touch of security. On the other hand, there’s DHHF, for investors focused chiefly on equity exposure.
This episode will help you understand the practical differences between these ETFs, from tax considerations and fees to global diversification and rebalancing strategies. Think of it as your guide to high-growth investments that balance risk and reward, whether you're just starting or seeking to build long-term wealth.

At the Get Rich Slow Club, we often talk about investing and financial literacy in aspirational terms. We showcase people who have retired early after investing in shares, or built their way towards property empires. However, there’s another, deeper reality at play: sometimes, investing can make the difference between stability and disaster.
Perhaps no-one better exemplifies this than Marion Mays – money EQ and IQ coach, and founder of Money Strong. Following the birth of her first child, Marion contended with a string of hurdles. These spanned from her transition to becoming a sole parent, to health and developmental issues which required her to be a full-time carer for her son for seven years.
Despite these challenges, Marion managed to stay afloat thanks to the financial buffers she had built for herself. Now, Marion is committed to ensuring other historically marginalised Australians have the financial tools they need to thrive.
Think of this episode as your financial disaster preparedness kit!

This podcast has spoken about ETFs – or exchange-traded funds – on many occasions. A kind of all-in-one investment, ETFs seek to track a particular index, commodity, sector, or basket of assets. In recent years, they’ve become popular with long-term investors who wish to diversify in one buy.
Okay, ETFs – we get those. But what about LICs, or Listed Investment Companies? If you read about both, they can seem quite similar; in fact, many people refer to both LICs and ETFs as baskets of assets. In truth, though, LICs and ETFs have some marked differences. And depending on your investment goals, one may suit you in ways that the other doesn’t.
Worry not, for after this episode, you’ll have a clearer idea of which is right for you!

Anyone who has spent time on TikTok, Instagram, or even Facebook will be familiar with the Comparison Trap. We log on, scroll for a while, and we find a peer who’s living a seemingly perfect life. It doesn’t make sense: the poster is your age, and earns around your wage. How can they afford to live a life of luxury when you feel like you’re struggling to get ahead?
Recently, a TikTok reel by @jen.rothwell touched on this very topic. And in this session, @tashinvests and Olivia from Her Money’s Worth use this reel as a launchpad to discuss the Comparison Trap. If social media has ever left you feeling behind the curve, this episode will give you a fresh perspective.

Do you know what the word “mortgage” actually means? It was originally a French term which – quite literally – translated to “death pledge”. In other words, it was envisaged as a debt which can follow you to the grave. These days, it doesn’t even stop there – mortgages often transfer to next of kin upon a mortgagee’s death. But do mortgages really need to haunt every inch of our mortal coal, latching onto our loved ones when we leave the realm of the living?
No. No they don’t. And in this episode, you can hear some strategies for prematurely snuffing that debt pledge from existence.

Let’s say you could travel back in time to the early ‘90s. If you were to ask a thirtysomething Boomer which decision is smarter – buying a home or renting – they’d likely laugh in your face. Sure, interest rates were higher (as older Aussies often bring up), but prices were lower compared to the average income. Like, much lower. In the face of these figures, one choice stood out as the more sensible option.
But these days? It’s not so cut and dry. There are an array of factors which can influence your decision in this current climate… so many, that we won’t try to cram them into this brief description. Instead, we’ll leave it to Tash and Ana to crunch the numbers, compare the stats, and help you find your answer.
Enjoy!

Back in episode 29, we covered some of the key ways that parents or family members can invest for kids. This time, the Get Rich Slow Club is going much deeper, and comparing some of the most popular kids’ investing apps in Australia.
Of course, we recognise that families take an array of different shapes. Some people may want to invest for their children (either current or future); some might have friends’ or families’ kids for whom they would like to invest; and some people don’t want or aren’t able to have kids.
If children are a difficult topic for you, please feel free to skip this episode. However, should you wish to understand more about the kids’ investing options out there, this session could help.

Teaching kids about responsibility can be a challenge. Teaching adults about money can also be hard. It’s understandable, then, that many people believe that teaching kids about money is an enormous hill to climb. By contrast, we believe that talking to kids about money is a lot like long-term investing: the best time to start is today.
That’s why, in this session, the Get Rich Slow Club focus on teaching kids about money and investing. For this endeavour, they’re joined by Pearler CEO and co-founder Nick Nicolaides. If you’re not sure how to approach the money conversation with a young person in your life, tune in!
