A Great High School Plan With Jennifer Pepito

At the Peaceful Press, we receive so many questions on how to homeschool your child through high school. High school is the last step before how we taught our children and what we taught them is really tested. Increased requirements and laws governing high school can also make it seem like too bit an endeavour to undertake at home or like our children are going to miss out on an essential part of a high school education. With these additional internal and external pressures, it is easy to abandon a living education and dump our teens into the grind of traditional high school test taking.

It doesn't have to be that way though, and test taking does not equal an education. Join Jennifer Pepito and her 27 years of homeschool experience and 6 high school graduates as she walks you through motivation to keep homeschooling and what to plan for in highschool. There is no size fits all, but we hope this episode inspires you to find the size that fits well for your family.

An Intentional Life with Cleere Cherry Reeves

Welcome to episode 113 with Jennifer Pepito and special guest Cleere Cherry Reeves of Cleerely Stated.

Cleere and Jennifer talk about declarations, intentional living, creating order, and stewarding the internal atmosphere of our home. This is all about living with margin, ignoring pressures, or could haves or should haves, and prioritising connection over perfection.

Our minds and emotions depend on our words and the stories we allow ourselves to meditate on. We must change our words and our world to better represent the truth of who God says we are and His goodness in our present situation, and He offers us the gift of change through His grace and healing.

A Creative Christmas with Emelie Pepito

Growing up, we would transition from the regular homeschool schedule during December and move towards crafting, Christmas Cookie exchanges, nature walks, and time reading together as a family. We made clay decorations, popcorn balls, and cranberry garlands.

The wonderful thing about creativity and a creative Christmas is it isn't age or time-dependent. You can make orange garlands with your adult children, bath salts with your grandkids, and clay ornaments with your children.

Episode 112 with Emelie and Jennifer is an excellent expose on Pepito's family Christmas, the joys of creativity, and how economical and accessible it can be!

Raising Connected Kids with Amy Nyvall

"Children are born persons." Charlotte Mason

Jennifer has been parenting since the 90s, and she and Scott's research and parenting styles have run the gamut over their 7 children and three decades. The one thing consistent from the early days of strict parenting to more permissive parenting is to focus on building character and connection. One thing that was consistent across all those years and styles of parenting. It was their intense love for their children and their enjoyment of each one as a person.

The one thing they learned over all those years is that there is no formula for parenting. Still, there is so much we can learn and be encouraged in.

Amy Nyvall, a coach with Connected Families, joins Jennifer Pepito to talk about parenting through connection and attunement without sacrificing standards. This is one of our longer podcasts because the topic and conversation were just that good. We hope you enjoy episode 111 and walk away with more ideas to connect with your children this season.

A Minimalist's Christmas with Diane Boden

Many of my adult friends have an ambivalent relationship with the Christmas season. Why is that? It's often because their mothers were stressed and anxious about achieving a "perfect Christmas."

In a recent discussion, Diane Boden, the creator of the Minimalist Mom's Podcast, joined Jennifer Pepito to talk about how to create a minimalist Christmas. The focus is on planning, creating meaningful moments for your family, and choosing what brings you joy and connection.

During the holiday season, there are numerous external pressures—from the vast selection of Christmas decorations at stores like Target to expectations from family and the community. It's easy to say yes to everything, buy more than you need, or feel guilty about your actions.

Don't let yourself fall into that trap. Avoid letting the pursuit of the "perfect holiday season" turn you into a frazzled mom. Instead, aim for simplicity so your children aren't left wishing for more relaxed times and a happier mom.
