The same question rings down through the ages. As ‘believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ’ (James 2:1), *how now shall we live?*

Psalm 127:1–5, James 1:1–27, Ezekiel 32:1–33:20 The Christian life is multi-faceted. There are a number of different things going on at the same time. In the passages for today we see five of these aspects, which all begin with the letter T.

Proverbs 27:23–28:6, Hebrews 13:1–25, Ezekiel 30:1–31:18 The Christian community, the church, is the community of our Lord Jesus, the ‘great Shepherd of the sheep’ (Hebrews 13:20). Each local church is called to be a community of the great Shepherd.

Psalm 126:1–6, Hebrews 12:14–29, Ezekiel 28:1–29:21 You no longer have to go to a specific physical place to experience the presence of God. Because of Jesus, the ‘mediator of a *new covenant*’ (Hebrews 12:24a), you can worship *anywhere*. Jesus is the one who has made this new relationship with God possible through his death on the cross for you and me.

Proverbs 27:15–22, Hebrews 11:1–16, Ezekiel 22:23–23:49 Faith and ‘*being sure*’ are not opposed.

Psalm 123:1–4, Hebrews 10:19–39, Ezekiel 20:45–22:22 The will to persevere is often the difference between success and failure.

Psalm 122:1–9, Hebrews 10:1–18, Ezekiel 19:1–20:44 *Holiness is beautiful* and it has nothing to do with outward beauty. It is a beauty that radiates from within.

Psalm 121:1–8, Hebrews 9:16–28, Ezekiel 17:1–18:32 ‘We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ *once for all*’.

Proverbs 27:5–14, Hebrews 9:1–15, Ezekiel 16:1–63 *You* can meet *your* blood donor. Jesus came ‘to *give his life* as a ransom for many’ (Mark 10:45). At the last supper, when Jesus took the cup, he said: ‘*This is my blood* of the covenant’ (Matthew 26:28; Mark 14:24).
