    Episode #166 – Dream Logic
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast episode #166 tackles Wolf Pack season 1, episode 8, “Trophic Cascade,” the season finale of Jeff Davis’ new werewolf show on Paramount+. This week, the pack must decide whether or not to save Baron’s life. If they do, they could be stronger than ever, but if they don’t, Everett and Blake’s lives could finally go back to normal. Meanwhile, Garrett and Kristin continue to circle the truth, still hesitant to trust in one another. Will we finally get the answers to all our burning questions? There’s only one way to find out! Listen as Natalie and Karen break down the events of the episode and try to figure out what’s coming next.

    • We’re warning you now that we have no idea what happened in this episode.
    • What exactly is a cold open?
    • We discuss Baron’s warped walk down memory lane one vision at a time, but we have a lot of trouble deciphering what’s true and what’s not.
    • Did Everett actually go through some sort of treatment like that?
    • Is this why the doctor and the nurse died?
    • We once again wonder how many of these characters are unreliable narrators.
    • Did Blake and her parents actually get into a car crash?
    • Harlan’s memory seems to be less warped than any of the others.
    • They used to be so close!
    • Baron’s scene from Luna’s perspective is super warped, and we wonder if this is silver poisoning or if it’s just dream logic.
    • Was Cyrus’ scene real? Did it actually happen at some point?
    • It looks like Baron was indeed the wolf that Harlan saw as a kid.
    • Finally, we return to real life and get some answers, however fleeting.
    • Why was Everett so mad that Harlan thought it was his fault he was having a panic attack?
    • By the way, that was definitely Ian Bohen’s voice on the phone.
    • Which is all well and good, but we want to know who he is and how he knows so much!
    • Blake isn’t going to stop the pack from saving Baron, but she isn’t going to help them either, and we can’t blame her for that.
    • Is Kristin able to hide when she lies?
    • So, Cyrus is AN arsonist, but not THE arsonist?
    • Is there any significance to his fire and when it occurred?
    • What was going on with that white noise machine!?
    • You can really see the hope draining from Luna throughout this episode.
    • Why did Kristin slip the recording into Harlan’s pocket?
    • AND WHY WAS SHE BEING SO CREEPY IN THAT FLASHBACK?
    • How did no one hear or feel her in the house?
    • Neither Blake nor Everett are wrong when it comes to the merits of being a werewolf.
    • It was the parking garage! Not the parking lot!!
    • Good thing Kristin doesn’t have to snuggle with people to mark them as safe.
    • Why are Danny and Blake being taken away from their father, and why was Kristin involved in the process?
    • Is there something forcing the people in power to drive the kids apart?
    • We discuss the conversation between Kristin and Blake about whether or not she would want Danny to be more like her.
    • Whichever side of the line you fall on, you gotta admit that something is wrong with Kristin.
    • Why is Luna feeling so let down at this point? Has everything finally taken its toll on her?
    • The scene where Everett gets sectioned was really intense.
    • Everett’s dad is not…hinged.
    • This feels so much more like a mid-season finale, and we’re wondering how long until we get Wolf Pack season 2!
    • Why is Jang all of a sudden so hellbent on getting Harlan!? Do they even have evidence?
    • Is Kristin actually the arsonist?
    • Was Baron living as a normal werewolf in the forest all that time?
    • Can we trust what the show is telling us?
    • That timing of that phone call was really bad.
    • We are just a podcast, standing in front of Jeff Davis, asking him to tell us the identity of the voice on the phone.
    • What does Kristin mean when she says only the pack can turn Baron human?
    • Silver resistance would’ve been a pretty sweet power.
    • Did Kristin’s fight near the end give anyone else Buffy vibes??
    • Do you ever notice when a scene is using the actor or when they’re using a stunt double?
    • Did Garrett actually shoot Malcolm?
    • Had you ever heard the phrase trophic cascade before?
    • Who is the prey Kristin is speaking of? What is her purpose in bringing back the predators, aka the werewolves?
    • Is Baron on Kristin’s side now? Can he control when he bites someone?
    • Would Harlan and Luna fight for Garrett’s right to not be a werewolf?
    • Would Garrett even accept the bite? Would Kristin give him that option?
    • We discuss our plans for future Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast episodes.

Episode #165 – Naked and on Fire
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast episode #165 dives into Wolf Pack season 1, episode 7, “Lion’s Breath.” This week, the pack decides to be proactive and devises a plan to trap the werewolf and change it back into human form. While it sounds pretty straightforward, there’s that little problem of bait. Namely, that they’ll have to risk Austin to do it. Meanwhile, Garrett and Kristin Ramsey grow ever closer, and we finally get some solid answers as to who she and what she wants. With only one episode left, we’ve gotten a lot of answers, but we still have so many questions!

    • We’re barely keeping it together, but we’ve got time for some wolf teens.
    • The opening scene to this episode was SO. SCARY.
    • How long did it take you to figure out if Baron was actually there or not?
    • How much are Everett and Baron actually linked?
    • Is the monster controlling Baron, or is someone else controlling the monster?
    • We’re very unclear on the werewolf rules of this show, but that’s part of what makes it so interesting and fresh.
    • Is this really just all a setup for season 2? If so, the finale will probably blow this world wide open!
    • Did Phoebe really have to do that thing with her mouth!?
    • How is Everett seeing Phoebe, and why is she giving Everett information?
    • Was Garrett trying to stay up all night to protect himself from the pack or the pack from something else?
    • Everything Kristin says is so loaded, and at this point it feels like she’s toying with Garrett.
    • Did Kristin’s family live human lives outside of their lives in the forest?
    • Good on Everett for not being afraid to say he was terrified.
    • Why is Everett the only one that Baron is showing himself to?
    • Okay, is Luna actually crazy, or are we reading too much into this?
    • Everett’s mom really is the worst, but is Everett starting to cross lines?
    • We really just want to know what’s going on with his dad and all those medications.
    • What’s Kristin’s actual purpose regarding the arson investigation, which is quickly turning into a murder investigation?
    • Where and when (and how) did Danny see Kristin at the parking garage?
    • Why does Kristin seem more open to talking to the kids about the truth than Garrett?
    • Will Blake open up to her?
    • Will any of the werewolf myths that Garrett and Luna discuss come back later in the show?
    • Kristin was giving some real single-mom-looking-for-a-dad-to-step-up vibes in this episode.
    • Is there a chance Kristin’s mate is still alive? Is he the voice on the phone?
    • What did you think about Kristin’s flashback of the fire 17 years ago?
    • Is it easier to maul someone as a wolf or as a person with very sharp claws?
    • Why did Kristin want Garrett to see the nest of bodies?
    • Was there a reality in which she would have killed him?
    • Why won’t she just come out and tell him the truth about everything?
    • What did we think about Everett’s plan to kill and then resuscitate Baron?
    • It’s great that Everett is so confident these days, but it feels like the other shoe is going to drop.
    • Why does Karen always fall for the psychopaths??
    • What did we think about that scene between Austin and Luna in her bedroom?
    • Why was the title of this episode “Lion’s Breath”?
    • It was so cool seeing the whole pack coming together, using their individual powers to trap the werewolf.
    • Can they turn into a super wolf?
    • How does the sharing of their powers actually work?
    • Did Austin’s final act of the episode shock us?
    • Can Baron survive a silver knife to the heart?
    • What could Baron’s special power be?
    • The preview for Wolf Pack episode 8 is quite a bit longer than the other ones we’ve seen so far.
    • Who called in the nest of bodies?
    • Were they debating whether to save Baron’s life?
    • Can you believe Luna is the one who’s given up on the pack!?
    • We’re kind of worried about Everett…
    • Are we going to get flashbacks of Baron?
    • Has Luna been in on it the whole time?
This episode’s hosts are: Karen Rought and Natalie Fisher.

Episode #164 – The Werewolf Whisperer
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast episode #164 breaks down the action of Wolf Pack season 1, episode 6, “After Party.” This week, we see the fallout from the last episode, where the pack’s friends (and acquaintances and enemies) came face-to-face with the werewolf. More blood is shed, and Garrett witnesses something that changes everything. Our theories are a lot less unhinged these days, but there’s still no telling if this show will take a sudden left turn as we approach the finale in a couple weeks.

    • If you or your loved one have been almost murdered by a cat, you may be entitled to financial compensation.
    • The episode title for this week is spot on, and we’re happy that the action picks up right where it left off.
    • Thinking the werewolf was a possum is really reaching.
    • Was there something else going on between Phoebe and Tia, or was this just to show that Phoebe sometimes has a softer touch?
    • We discuss Everett’s choice to tell everyone the thing they saw on the highway and in Tia’s backyard was a black bear.
    • Was Luna happy that he lied?
    • Austin certainly wasn’t, but what did he expect Everett to say??
    • You’ll never guess how Natalie figured out the blonde-haired kid was a werewolf.
    • Blake and Phoebe finally talked, and we weigh in on her reasoning for not wanting a phone.
    • Would they have stayed friends if Phoebe had survived?
    • What is Kristin up to, and will her excuse about the guard not finding the key hold up long-term?
    • We don’t think this is the first time she’s killed an innocent person.
    • Did anyone find the way she checked her gun extremely attractive? Just Karen? Okay.
    • Kristin knows Garrett is carrying his werewolf gun, but is this an olive branch or a threat?
    • Harlan and Cyrus definitely need to get out of the woods, but first they need to kiss.
    • Do we actually like Cyrus? Do we still find him suspicious?
    • That shot where Kristen comes to the rescue was fantastic.
    • How much does the werewolf understand what Kristin is saying? How was it able to talk back?
    • Garrett and Kristin now know the other person knows what they know, but neither one of them are willing to be the first to say so.
    • Can we definitely cross Cyrus off the list of potential arson suspects?
    • Okay, Everett’s dad was SUPER creepy, and we’re trying to figure out why he was being so threatening.
    • What kind of pills is Everett taking??
    • Is “I don’t need a phone to find you” the new “I will always find you”??
    • Why does the werewolf have a penchant for dragging bodies up to high places?
    • Do we think Cyrus is telling the truth now?
    • We loved seeing Gideon Emery!
    • Malcolm explains what happened in the woods 17 years ago.
    • Is one of the hot shot crew members out there doing revenge?
    • Could Kristin have been part of the hotshot crew?
    • Why does Jang hate Garrett so much?
    • Did we have any theories about what Garrett saw when he winged the werewolf?
    • Is Everett’s theory about what happened correct, or is this another red herring?
    • Who is the person on the phone, and what do they actually want?
    • Harlan clearly cares about Cyrus a lot more than he’s letting on.
    • The scene in the barn between Garrett and Harlan is one of the best scenes in the show so far.
    • How does Everett know Baron’s real name?
    • There’s a lot of assuming going on here…
    • What are our predictions for episode 7?
    • Is Kristin their werewolf mother or is she just Baron’s adoptive mother?
This episode’s hosts are: Karen Rought and Natalie Fisher.

Episode #163 – When in Doubt, Blame the Mushrooms
The hosts of Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast dive into the discussion of Wolf Pack season 1, episode 5, “Incendiary.” The teens are definitely coming together as a pack now, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t personality clashes. The real question is—are they closing in on the werewolf, or is the werewolf closing in on them? Meanwhile, Garrett and Kristin team up to find the arsonist, and some hints of the past are revealed. But so is the nest of bodies.

    • If you’ve had any recent trips to the ER, feel free to regale us with your stories!
    • That cold open with little Harlan was SO CUTE.
    • In our interview with Tyler Lawrence Grey, he said we’d be getting more flashbacks, but we’re really happy with how many there have been.
    • At least this one with Harlan and Garrett wasn’t as gruesome as Luna’s.
    • Are the kids all in as a pack now, or will there be something that drives them apart?
    • Luna knows better than most what happens to a horse with a broken leg, doesn’t she?
    • Is there any hope that Connor is still alive?
    • What was going on with that sharp sound when Harlan answered the phone?
    • We’re more convinced than ever that the voice on the phone is Ian Bohen’s—Teen Wolf crossover, anyone!?
    • Can’t The Voice be a little more helpful? Is this Deaton in disguise!?
    • Are there any characters we haven’t seen during the day?
    • Has the monster we keep seeing been corrupted somehow?
    • How did Luna get the rest of the pack to be quiet? Is this an Alpha power?
    • Thank goodness Harlan checked the stalls this time!!
    • If The Voice is so well informed, why doesn’t he just come out and say what he knows? Why doesn’t he just do something about it himself?
    • That scene between Everett and Harlan in the gym was so good and led to some interesting new pieces of information.
    • Do we trust that Harlan knows that wolf was his father?
    • We’re really loving the pack dynamic so far, even if it feels a little fragile.
    • Why does Luna like Austin? He’s kind of the worst.
    • Psychedelic-assisted therapy seems to be a hot topic all around.
    • That bathing suit was, like, SUPER tiny. Like, microscopic.
    • Luna and Blake seem to be getting along pretty great.
    • Karen apologizes for giving Austin the benefit of the doubt. She has weaknesses, and asshole-with-a-lot-of-emotions is one of them.
    • Blake and Everett finally get a chance to be alone, and then Phoebe has to go and ruin it.
    • Why does Phoebe have so much vitriol for Blake? We can’t wait to find out what actually happened between them.
    • But she still didn’t deserve what Austin did to her.
    • LOL at Blake throwing Austin’s phone in the pool again.
    • Everyone definitely saw the werewolf…
    • Looping back to the adults’ storyline—are robotics labs common in high school?
    • Why didn’t the arsonist hide where the incendiary device came from?
    • We want Jang and Garrett to be best friends so badly.
    • Do we actually think Cyrus is the arsonist, or is this just a red herring?
    • We have a lot of questions about Harlan and Luna’s parents’ pack.
    • If Prisha’s radical environmental group wasn’t arrested for arson, what WERE they arrested for?
    • Did Garrett WANT to become a father??
    • Okay, we definitely have more questions than answers about Kristin Ramsey at this point.
    • What are our theories for episode 6?
This episode’s hosts are: Karen Rought and Natalie Fisher.

Episode #162 – Secret Third Option
The hosts of Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast are here to do an in-depth discussion of Wolf Pack season 1, episode 4, “Fear and Pain.” While there are still plenty of questions left unanswered, we are getting some more background information on a few of the characters, so that’s nice. This week, we’re really questioning Kristin’s motives, especially as she closes in on the werewolf’s trail. Is she good or bad, or is there some secret third option in which she’s neither (or both)!?

    • How are we enjoying the wolf teens so far?
    • We both agree this is our favorite episode yet, and we’re super impressed with how nuanced this show has become.
    • The episode opens with Austin talking to Kristin about what he saw on the highway.
    • Is his mom the best parent on the show so far?
    • How much does Kristin know? Does she believe in werewolves?
    • What’s going on with Connor!? Is he dead??
    • How do we feel about the characters outside the main four?
    • The conversation between Garrett and the kids was surprisingly mature and practical.
    • We wish we could’ve been a fly on the wall for the conversation between Garrett and the twins when they were kids, first learning about their powers.
    • We really liked how Kristin was trying to get into Connor’s head when she laid back in the spot where he’d been taken.
    • That ram was definitely NOT a hallucination.
    • Did you get vibes between Luna and Blake?
    • Everett’s mom is pretty horrible, and we talk about why that may be.
    • It turns out Everett has siblings, but where are they?
    • Everett’s anxiety attack gives the others a panic attack, and no one is happy about it.
    • The fact that even the born werewolves don’t transform is so interesting.
    • Was Harlan sad that Blake didn’t want to be part of their pack?
    • Why doesn’t Austin like Luna? Is she that weird??
    • Prisha knows about the wolf teens, and we need some serious backstory here.
    • If you don’t believe in werewolves and you don’t believe a black bear attacked people…what do you believe?
    • Natalie makes Karen decide whether she thinks Kristin is good or bad.
    • It’s interesting that Kristin wasn’t all suspicious of Garrett after learning that Miller disappeared near his house.
    • So, the voice on the phone IS for the wolf teens.
    • Is Luna gonna eat her lover?
    • We finally get the backstory to the horse!
    • Do we like Cyrus? Do we think he’s the arsonist?
    • Is Harlan more interested in a romantic connection than he’s letting on?
    • Why is Phoebe mean to Blake in one breath and nice to her in another?
    • What’s up with the guy in the van!? Is this a werewolf delivery service?
    • Everett comes in like a knight in shining armor.
    • Is Danny connected to the monster situation at all?
    • How did everyone get to Blake so quickly?
    • Will this moment convince the group that they need to stay a pack?
    • Will Prisha take the drawing that Austin made so Kristin doesn’t see it?
    • Is Kristin going to tell anyone about the blood she found?
    • Oh, lovely. The werewolf has a nest of bodies.
    • What are our predictions for episode 5?
This episode’s hosts are: Karen Rought and Natalie Fisher.

Episode #161 - A Bit of Claw and Fang
The hosts of Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast are back to discuss Wolf Pack season 1, episode 3, "Origin Point." The questions and theories keep coming, but we're enjoying the pacing of this show. You can expect such hard-hitting discussions such as, "Do werewolves have pockets?" "Does turning into a wolf make you extra horny?" and "Why does Harlan want a werewolf daddy so badly?" Tune in to find out the answers to these questions and much, much more.

    • If anyone lives in Sydney, Australia and wants a cat, please contact Natalie on Twitter.
    • Hopefully Karen's cat doesn't start a war with the leopard gecko.
    • What kind of lizard would look like the kanima?
    • But we're not here to talk about lizards. We're here to talk about wolf teens!
    • When those kids climb up to the top of that building to check out the fireline, we get some background on Blake and her parents.
    • Why are we so bad at faces?? We can't tell who all was up the tower.
    • It's so interesting that Phoebe and Blake used to be friends considering they're from very different backgrounds.
    • How important is this group? Is one of them the arsonist?
    • That scene in the back of the cop car was actually super stressful.
    • Kristin is always assessing, which makes us nervous---but she's also the nicest law enforcement officer they've come up against.
    • Natalie is very suspicious of Luna and her connection to all these horses.
    • Was that all in Luna's head, or did it actually happen?
    • Harlan's power is SO useful, and it definitely seems like the best one so far.
    • Why were the police shoving Harlan around so much?
    • Phoebe has no problem telling Blake that she named her as the arsonist, and we're really not shocked by how mean teenagers are.
    • Will this put a target on Blake's back?
    • The bigger question is whether Phoebe is the arsonist or if she's going to die.
    • Considering there aren't a lot of questions answered in each episode, it's quite a risk to put this out in an episodic release.
    • Why was Luna's heart racing, and could it have been because she's the one that bit them??
    • Will Harlan and Everett ever bond and actually become friends?
    • We definitely thought the interrogation scene was some sort of psychic connection, but it turns out they were actually sharing Harlan's power.
    • Luna is desperate to have a pack, and we find that very suspicious.
    • If Luna bit these kids, Harlan is gonna be PISSED.
    • That scene with Kristin and Everett where she talks about anxiety being a threat response was stellar on every level.
    • Once again we love how good Kristin is as her job, and how empathetic of a character she is.
    • But Officer Miller seems like the kind of guy who just wants to throw his weight around whenever possible.
    • Thank goodness Garrett comes in when he does!! And thanks to Kristin, Miller doesn't get off the hook, either.
    • Is Officer Jang a good cop? Is his hardass attitude just an act?
    • Who slashed Phoebe's tires, and why?
    • Everett is SO excited to be able to talk to an adult about all of this.
    • Once again, we're wondering why Harlan is so obsessed with the idea that the werewolf is his real father.
    • Harlan made it seem like turning into a werewolf was a ridiculous idea.
    • But Garrett is taking all of this seriously, especially now that the kids have a pack.
    • Is there a sexual element to being a werewolf? Because everyone is so horny.
    • We once again wonder what the purpose of the phone calls is, and who's on the other end.
    • Garrett is very matter of fact with the kids and treats them like adults, and we kind of love it.
    • Can he just adopt Blake and Everett?
    • Luna definitely got the short end of the stick with her superpower being...smell.
    • Despite all his bluster, Harlan looks very lost when Miller shows up.
    • "You said werewolf."
    • The humor is so natural in this show, and even though it's few and far between, it always comes at the perfect time.
    • Who's having the sexy daydreams? Is it both of them?
    • Why is Miller so big on the assault?
    • Luna gets another horse moment out in the barn, and we can't work out if it's a warning for or against her.
    • Does the werewolf have a phone in his furry little werewolf pants?
    • We wonder who the werewolf considers a friend and who it considers an enemy.
    • Do we actually want Luna to be the bad guy?
    • Karen has some theories about Kristin possibly being the real enemy in this show.
    • Do you think Garrett should've admitted to making silver bullets in case he had to kill his own kids?
    • Is this what tears Luna and Garrett apart?
    • Looking ahead to episode 4, we try to figure out what might happen next week.
This episode’s hosts are: Karen Rought and Natalie Fisher.

Episode #160 - Tyler Lawrence Gray, Wolf Pack's Lone Wolf
Wolf Pack star Tyler Lawrence Gray, who plays Harlan Briggs, joins the hosts of Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast to preview the new series. Tyler has plenty to say about his first impressions of the project and of the role, working with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Rodrigo Santoro, the different levels of acting experience between the four main teen stars and how they supported one another, and of course, all about his character Harlan Briggs - his super hearing power, his independent nature, his sexuality, and the impact of all the unanswered questions in Harlan's past. We also manage to get one or two teasers about when viewers can expect the big picture to come into focus. We hope you enjoy our exclusive interview with Tyler Lawrence Gray for Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast's coverage of Wolf Pack - not a Teen Wolf spin-off!

    • We're delighted to be joined by one of the stars of Wolf Pack, Tyler Lawrence Gray! You can find him on instagram at TylerLawrenceGray and Twitter at @TylerLawrenceG.
    • Tyler plays one of Wolf Pack's "core four," Harlan Briggs - born werewolf and brother of Luna, adopted by Garrett.
    • The role is Tyler's first major project, but he also auditioned for the Teen Wolf movie!
    • “Not only one project from Jeff Davis but two and one of them's a whole new universe? I was freaking out.”
    • Tyler holds a life-long attraction to genre fiction, especially creature films and CGI-heavy properties.
    • “Whatever could create a non-realistic world compared to this one just piqued my interest.”
    • He believes that supernatural or genre fiction presents a unique opportunity to tell certain stories.
    • “You can tell stories through romance, you can tell stories through comedy, you could tell stories through horror and they can all be the same story just in different ways but I think the supernatural [genre] especially is great because the metaphor is always there.”
    • Superhero movies were nd fed his desire to create an impact, but perhaps not in the way you might expect.
    • “I know that's very common and cliche but I sort of started to challenge that thought, like why do these superheroes make me want to be great, and I think it's because they they possess this power that is stronger than the average person and I sort of resonate with that, in a sense of like, you can have a power like that if you decide to just have impact on people. I've realized that in a world like this where we're all the same, the real power is that positive energy.”
    • Tyler recounts diving into the scripts in the early stages of Wolf Pack and getting stuck on Harlan’s level of resistance, suspecting it may turn sinister.
    • “I actually remember asking Jeff before we started shooting, I was like ‘Is Harlan a villainous character?’"
    • Davis’s response? “No. He’s just hurt.”
    • “I realized almost immediately honestly after reading the pilot, all right here's someone who has sort of a dysfunctional relationship with his immediate family that he's living with right now because there's this underlying problem that is unanswered, and he's unable to accept what he has in front of him because of that unanswered question.”
    • Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of Wolf Pack's adult stars, and Tyler talks about her role on set as a mentor and as the show's executive producer.
    • "She genuinely cares about teaching us stuff. She really stressed to us, “stay humble, keep your head on straight, this industry can take you down roads that you don't want to go down. Remember why you're here, you're here because you were that actor that was struggling at one point looking for work, and you would have done anything. But now you're here so take advantage of that opportunity and really make an impact on people, and stay humble.” And we all did. I think we all just listened to her, we were like 'Yes.' Her being a good role model like that really set the tone for the way we would like to go into work."
    • Harlan and Luna's relationship with their adopted father Garrett is a crucial part of Wolf Pack, and actor Rodrigo Santoro really helped Tyler and Chloe Rose Robertson to develop details of the imagined backstory for the Briggs family, strengthening the relationship dynamic between them.
    • "Talk about someone who literally just dives into their craft and doesn't want to come out. just wants to stay in there forever. He is one of the most passionate actors I've ever seen. I'll never forget the first time I ever met Rodrigo. He came up to me and Chloe and he had a gift for us, he got us flip-flops that he brought all the way from Brazil. So already off the bat I was like 'Oh Rodrigo you've already sold me, man, like you've already bought my approval.'"
    • Tyler takes us through his experiences at New York Comic-Con - a first for him - and at the show's red carpet premiere in Los Angeles.
    • "Honestly I wasn't even worried if people were gonna like it or hate it because I was proud of what I did and I was proud of all the other actors and the entire crew. I know how much time we all spent some days where we're just exhausted, it's like three in the morning and we're all on our third cup of coffee, waiting to just wrap. But we know that we have to do it because there are people out there that will appreciate it. That’s the beautiful thing about acting and art, with film, is that regardless of how the outcome is, you will find a group of people that genuinely enjoy it."
    • On creating the first impression of Harlan in his first scene, Tyler knew he needed to give off the energy of the coolest character, the one with the swagger and sex appeal, and complete comfort about the fact that he's gay.
    • "Not your typical swagger like the high school quarterback or someone like that. Someone who's in this underground rave culture, he's just dancing and he's doing his own thing and he's maybe not even supposed to be there because of his age, but he is, because he's little defiant and I know that people love that rebellious defiant vibe. I know that Jeff really wanted to make this kind of character as cool and as tough as possible [...] I actually asked Jeff at first I was like "So is this [his sexuality] sort of his underlying thing that he's struggling with? And he's like 'Oh no, he is out and proud.'"
    • From the first few episodes, it seems like Harlan is chasing guys for hook-ups and preferring this kind of connection and intimacy to family or friends. Is he a romantic? Will there be a proper love story on the horizon for him?
    • "He clearly doesn't have a boyfriend or a significant other. So he's sort of trying to just figure his stuff out with that as well."
    • Getting into the details of the episodes, we have a great chat with Tyler about Harlan's special super power, hearing, and how that's demonstrated to us through his introduction at a rave and his recognition of the mixing of EDM tracks. Tyler also teases the importance of the different werewolf strengths, and he has a theory about why Jeff Davis chose to give this particular power to his character.
    • "I have a feeling it's because Harlan is confident and he's almost a little cocky, and with the hearing, it's kind of like 'I can hear everything by the way. You're not smarter than me, you can't get anything by me because I'm literally hearing everything at all times whenever I want to.'"
    • We had to ask Tyler why Harlan seems so sure that the monster out there is their real father (as opposed to their mother.)
    • "Honestly I just think that ties into Harlan's psychology about why he can't accept his stepdad."
    • We also got into the fact that we were really surprised that there were more a bunch kids, beyond Everett and Blake, who seem to have a role to play in the monster's story! Here, Tyler had a bit of a concrete answer for us about what to expect.
    • "I know a lot of people are gonna be like "What? How many people did this thing bite? But it will all make sense in episode 5."
    • Check out the full episode for lots more from Tyler Lawrence Gray as he takes us through his experience filming Wolf Pack and gives us a few more teasers for the upcoming season!

Episode #159 – Protectors of the Land
The hosts of Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast have been covering Wolf Pack, Jeff Davis’ new show on Paramount+, and return with another weekly recap and discussion of episode 2, “Two Bitten, Two Born.” Just a reminder this is NOT a Teen Wolf spinoff, even if it’s about some wolf teens. We have even wilder theories this week, and you’ll be happy (or disgruntled) to know that we have not stopped saying such phrases as “wolf daddy” and “ram daddy.” Proceed at your own risk, but just know that there’s a lot of mystery and intrigue when you’re tuning into Wolf Pack.

    • We’ve been so busy with all of our Subjectify Media projects, but that just means we’ve got a lot of cool articles coming out soon!
    • It’s time to talk about Wolf Pack season 1, episode 2, “Two Bitten, Two Born.”
    • This episode picks up right where the last one left off.
    • We really love Ranger Prisha Amad’s character and her relationship with Harlan and Luna.
    • These kids are a hot mess and they need to get better at lying.
    • We talk about the fact that this show seems real and gritty and messy in a good way.
    • Really, it comes down to the characters and the fact that they’re nuanced and complex and three-dimensional.
    • Did Ranger Amad not see they almost got into a fatal car accident??
    • Were Luna and Everett friends? Do they have a history with each other?
    • Why did Everett and Blake’s bites suddenly heal?
    • Karen sets the record straight about her feelings for Everett’s dad.
    • That slap in the face wasn’t hard but it felt VIOLENT.
    • Was Kendra startled by what she did? Did she regret it?
    • How often does something like this happen, and why didn’t the father step in?
    • There are a lot of subtle horror cues throughout the entire episode, and Karen is LIVING for it.
    • Is there something else going on with Danny? Can he sense what’s going on with Blake?
    • When we first watched Ranger Amad show the kids where she thought Garrett was, we thought she was clued into their secret.
    • It turns out that Harlan and Luna don’t really know anything about werewolves, especially those that’ve been bitten.
    • Oh, and we get a confirmation that Garrett is the only one who knows about their abilities.
    • Is it possible that bitten and born werewolves have different powers?
    • We’re glad the bite didn’t make Everett’s anxiety go away—but it almost makes it seem like it’s gotten worse.
    • Did Blake and Everett have a shared dream?
    • What do we think of their immediate connection? Is there any chance they could last?
    • Is there any reason why the monster would want to keep Garrett alive?
    • The truth is, we don’t know if the monster chasing them is actually the same monster that bit them.
    • Did Blake and Everett really think a dresser would stop the monster?
    • What kind of insurance did Blake’s dad miss payments for?
    • The idea that Blake’s dad is in the top half of best parents on the show is…saying something.
    • And Everett’s mom just keeps getting worse.
    • This show definitely knows it has Sarah Michelle Gellar on it.
    • We realize that Kristin is being the most performative character on the show, and it’s totally on purpose.
    • Wasn’t it kind of weird we didn’t see any of Kristin’s chats with the kids?
    • We were not prepared to learn that more kids had been bitten, and it begs the question—why is Connor different from Everett and Blake?
    • What was going on with Harlan at the gym, and is the guy in the yellow tank top important?
    • Is Harlan more keen than anyone for romantic love?
    • This episode confirmed that the kids were not found with their dead mother.
    • Garrett probably never had a dating life thanks to his werewolf babies.
    • What did he end up telling the person he told about the wolf pups?
    • Does Blake’s power only work at night? Is this why Harlan was so surprised his powers were going haywire during the day?
    • Horse Daddy or Horse Mommy?
    • Natalie has a pretty cool theory about the werewolves and all the animal spirits we keep seeing.
    • We loved how well Everett and Danny got along.
    • If Everett and Blake end up being fated mates, how will we feel about that?
    • Was the phone call that Connor got different from the other ones?
    • That part where Connor had to break his cast was horrific.
    • Maybe getting the bite doesn’t guarantee you become a werewolf?
    • Luna is super into this werewolf thing, isn’t she??
    • Do you think Connor is dead or alive?
    • What are our lingering questions by the end of this episode? Anything we’re looking forward to?
    • What theories do we have for next week’s episode?
    • Make sure you tune into Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast episode #160 for our interview with Tyler Lawrence Gray, who plays Harlan on Wolf Pack!
This episode’s hosts are: Karen Rought and Natalie Fisher.

Episode #158 - New Level of Werewolfery
We continue our coverage of Wolf Pack, Jeff Davis' new show on Paramount+, with a discussion of the series premiere "From a Spark to a Flame" to kick off our weekly recaps. There may be some teen werewolves, but this show is pretty different from Teen Wolf. We have a lot of wild theories about what could happen over the course of the season, so tune in to meet Everett, Blake, Luna, and Harlan, and then let us know your first reactions to this new series.

    • Just so you know, this is NOT a Teen Wolf spinoff.
    • Should we expand our jurisdiction to consider other adolescent werewolves?
    • Do you like mythology? Percy Jackson? Rick Riordan? Karen as a podcast host? If you answered yes to any of these questions, be sure to check out Prophecy Radio.
    • We love the episode length for this show, and enjoy series that change episode length depending on what’s necessary for the story.
    • This show feels so big already, and the drone shots probably have a lot to do with that.
    • Would you be talking with your therapist on the school bus because we definitely wouldn’t.
    • It’s immediately clear that although this show is about teen werewolves, it is quite an adult show.
    • We’re choosing to be suspicious of the doctor JUST IN CASE.
    • Blake tells us very early on and in no uncertain terms that she does not have a phone and that we wouldn’t understand why.
    • We already knew this show was going to be about the impact technology has on us, but that scene with Austin proves it.
    • How important are the kids on the bus gonna be to the rest of the story?
    • So…this show is gonna be violent.
    • We have a lot of questions about the ram. And Karen has a really bad joke.
    • At first, we didn’t like that we didn’t see Everett and Blake get bitten, but it makes sense why they chose that.
    • We were REALLY into the opening credits.
    • What is the show trying to say about having online friends!?
    • We’re still trying to figure out how many players are on the board.
    • Some of the voices on the phones sound VERY familiar.
    • We are not fans of Everett’s parents, even if his dad is super nice.
    • We totally had a moment when Sarah Michelle Gellar came on screen.
    • Our first theory went out the window, so why doesn’t Blake have a phone? What’s the big deal with this?
    • She does not want to deal with this whole werewolf thing AT ALL.
    • This is show is very Adult, but not Adult Like Porn.
    • Where is Blake’s mother? Does it have anything to do with the fact that Danny has autism?
    • Who bit Everett!? Is it possible that it was Luna?
    • We’re so confused and intrigued about all the visions and memories and weird psychic moments.
    • We liked the running effects when Blake ran back to her house.
    • How big of a role will Danny have in the series once Blake enters the pack?
    • It’s so interesting that normal people can’t see the werewolf bite.
    • Blake is insistent that they are not in this together.
    • We get a pretty good look at the werewolf, but this doesn’t really answer any of our questions.
    • What does it mean that it takes about half the episode until we’re introduced to the twins?
    • Why is there a rave in the middle of a forest fire?
    • Harlan and Luna are pretty different, to say the least.
    • We love that each of the kids have individualized specialties.
    • If it’s not the full moon yet, what’s going on with their enhanced powers?
    • It sounds like the disconnect between Harlan and Garrett is recent.
    • Why are they so focused on the fact that this monster could be their father, and not their mother?
    • Those messages Garrett was recording for his kids were intense.
    • The exposition in this episode was delivered very well.
    • Wolf Pack is tackling mental health in a very real and detailed way.
    • Will the bite make all of these issues go away?
    • We’re super curious about what’s going on with Kristin and how much she knows.
    • Do we really know for a fact that the arsonist is a teenager?
    • Why do Everett and Blake feel pain randomly? Does this have to do with the Alpha?
    • We love how bright the night scenes are!
    • Have Harlan and Luna ever met another werewolf before?
    • They definitely waited until the very end of the episode to even mention the word werewolf.
    • What are our overall thoughts about the show?
    • Will fans of Teen Wolf like Wolf Pack?
    • Do we have any predictions for episode 2 or the rest of the season?
This episode’s hosts are: Karen Rought and Natalie Fisher.

Episode #157 - Emotional Support Jeep
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast is here to give you our first impressions about Teen Wolf: The Movie, which hit Paramount+ on January 26. There is no rhyme or reason to this episode—just our unhinged, unfiltered reactions to watching the film for the first time. Did we love it? Was it satisfying? Were we surprised by any of the twists and turns? Be sure to watch the movie, and then join us for this roller coaster ride of emotions as we get all of our thoughts and feelings out of our systems.

    • We’re doing this off the cuff, and we feel both naked and afraid. Don’t expect any of this to be in order!
    • Let’s just talk about the butts, shall we?
    • The swearing totally makes sense, and we’re glad they put it in the movie.
    • Liam got to open the movie for us—what were our first impressions?
    • We kind of want another season set directly before the events of this movie…
    • Natalie has a theory about how Hikari came into the fold.
    • Okay, real talk: How do we feel about the big reveal of the man in the hood??
    • This movie really makes some deep cuts, but we also wish it had answered some more questions.
    • How long did it take us to put together the fact that the nogitsune was the one who wanted Allison to come back to life?
    • If only Deaton had been the one possessed…
    • Who was driving the revenge plot toward Scott, Harris or the Nogitsune?
    • Should Allison have died again at the end of the movie?
    • Were Lydia’s visions of Allison being stuck also false?
    • Why is Scott’s only friend Deaton!?
    • What about that crack about Scott wanting children?

Episode #156 - Teen Wolf Pack
It's a new era of Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast! In addition to Teen Wolf: The Movie, we will be using this platform to cover Wolf Pack, the new Paramount+ show from Jeff Davis. It may be about teen werewolves, but it is not a spin-off. In this episode, Karen and Natalie break down everything we know about Wolf Pack so far, from the casting to the plot to the themes, and boggle at the fact that the actual Sarah Michelle Gellar is a now a part of our extended Teen Wolf family.

    • This is our first episode covering the new Jeff Davis show Wolf Pack! What do we know so far?
    • Wolf Pack is airing weekly, not a binge. How do we feel about that?
    • Sarah Michelle Gellar says that this is true episodic television - it won't be explained until the final episode.
    • The show is based on Edo van Belkom's Wolf Pack novels but seems to be very loose.
    • In the books, all four main teens were siblings found as puppies by a park ranger.
    • In the show, only two are. The other two are bitten.
    • This is maybe for romance reasons?
    • There's also an evil doctor who kidnaps one werewolf for experimentation. Will that be in the show?
    • The books started with a wildfire, and the recent California wildfires are the backdrop to the show.
    • We go through the main cast of the series and what we know about their characters.
    • Sarah Michelle Gellar as Kristin Ramsey, an arson investigator.
    • Rodrigo Santoro as Garrett Briggs, a park ranger who is the adopted father of Luna and Harlan.
    • Armani Jackson as Everett Lang, a newly bitten teen werewolf.
    • Bella Shepard as Blake Navarro, another newly bitten teen werewolf
    • Chloe Rose Robertson as Luna Briggs, Harlan's twin, a teen werewolf found and adopted after a fire 18 years ago.
    • Tyler Lawrence Gray as Harlan Briggs, Luna's twin, a teen werewolf found and adopted after a fire 18 years ago.
    • Bailey Stender, Chase Liefeld, Hollie Bahar, Lanny Joon, Rio Mangini, Stella Smith, Zack Nelson and James Martinez are also set to star.
    • Sarah Michelle says that she can talk about all the others, but her character is the mystery. What does this mean?
    • Jeff says Rodrigo loves to talk about his character, suggest scenes, and that and it's a joy for the writer when the actor wants to dig in deep.
    • Everett is a smart kid, a dreamer, with severe anxiety and not the best parents. He's overmedicated.
    • He seems like the most earnest of the group and it looks like he will connect with Luna over wanting to make a pack, but he might have romance with Blake.
    • Armani is an experienced young actor who has had small roles in large movies and films
    • Blake is a nonchalant, dismissive girl in some denial about what is happening to her. It’s hard for her to trust people, and she is really closed off.
    • Blake is has no digital footprint, no computer, no phone. We wonder why.
    • Bella is the most experienced of the young actors and has had small roles in very large films and shows.
    • Luna is described as empathetic but very lonely her whole life, her only real relationships with father and brother, and less so with her brother.
    • She really wants this pack and falls in love at first sight with the idea of them.
    • If the others reject the level of connection she wants, she may end up going to a darker place.
    • At the start she is very loving of her dad, but as it moves on it sounds like she could reject humanity, or try to exclude dad and only value the wolves.
    • Harlan is a lone wolf with a separate outsider mentality, he's in his own world, own rules.
    • He has swagger and acts like he's having a good time but deep down, he's not really a happy kid. A big part of him is missing and he continues to search for it.
    • He's the last to agree and be on board with the pack.
    • Harlan is gay, there are straight and other queer spectrum- broader scheme everyone is human and wants to be happy everyone gearing towards their own desires.
    • The show is described as being dark, violent, and with a lot of romance.
    • Jeff says it is darker and more sophisticated than Teen Wolf.
    • A lot of the emotions will focus on or be a metaphor for the current kinds of anxiety and depression caused by the disconnect of social media and technology, the real-world isolation.
    • The look of the show: They want it to look like a streaming show. Jeff told the directors and DPs to make it interesting, weird, cool.
    • "People talk about how dark TV is now physically, so let's give them something to watch."
    • The werewolf lore will be different from Teen Wolf. Maybe more traditional?
    • We go over the teaser trailer for details.
    • Then we go over the full length trailer for details.
    • Jeff is now BFFs with Sarah Michelle Gellar. We discuss how insane that is.
This episode’s hosts are: Karen Rought and Natalie Fisher.
