Private Education by Aisling Keenan is the smart sex and relationships podcast. It's for anyone having sex. Or relationships. Or both. It's sex ed for adults. It's the chats you want to be able to have with your partner or your best mates, only with a little more expertise, sage(ish) advice and as many laughs as can be crammed into 60 minutes. We're trying to make light of the tough stuff and keep the fun side safe and heathy. Enjoy!
In the last episode of season 2, Aisling and Andrea discuss the ten things you need to talk about before you get engaged or married (or indeed make any sort of legal long term commitment to another person).
We'll see you again in a few weeks!

**TRIGGER WARNING: Domestic violence**
This week, we answer a listener query. Her boyfriend has slept with over 100 women and her 'number' is only 3 – is this cause for concern, and why does she feel "icky" about it?
We also mark domestic violence awareness month (this October) by giving some helpful numbers out, and talking through some of the statistics around it. Scary listening, but worth mentioning to bring awareness and hopefully help someone in need (if you are in a position to donate, here is the link). Here are some helpful addresses and phone numbers should you be affected by anything in today's episode:

This week Aisling and Andrea discuss a new dating term that Aisling maintains she's been talking about for years (of course) which is the concept of 'cushioning'. Overlapping partners, basically, to cushion the emotional blow that moving between relationships can bring. We also give our best advice about how to break up with someone with respect and kindness, as well as detailing some of our own worst break ups.

This week's episode is packed full of insights thanks to our guest, relationship coach Lisa McFarland. We talk about attachment styles, conflict styles and love languages among many other topics, and hopefully you'll venture online and take a test or two to see what you and your partner's attachment styles are and how you can understand each other better.

This week on Private Education, we have a really candid and honest chat with Andrew Fitzsimons – Khloe Kardashian's close confidant and hair stylist – about growing up in Ireland as a gay man, trust issues in relationships and healing yourself before you can share your life with someone else. Andrew spoke so beautifully about his client Mariah Carey (!!) and how he "does not accept" that she's labelled a diva because she's professional and knows what she wants. A chat we really enjoyed having and editing, we hope you enjoy too.
Big thanks to Amy for organising this interview, and you can follow Andrew @andrewfitzsimons or @andrewfitzsimonshair.

This week, from LA and Cork, Andrea and Aisling answer a listener query that involves layers of information and involves mismatched sex drives, blood tests and a very real marriage on the line. We also chat about public proposals, and more to the point: why no one should hijack their other half's special days (graduations, marathon completion, that sort of thing...) and use those times to pop the question.

Andrea joins today's episode all the way from Los Angeles – she was poolside for the recording guys. Not able. We talk about dry spells, whether not having sex or not having sex often is a death knell for a relationship, and we discuss an interaction Aisling had in a lift with a strange man during the week. Enjoy!

This week, we're chatting to Dr Maria McEvoy about Vaginismus, a condition that makes penetrative sex (or vaginal penetration of any kind) impossible. Vaginismus is not something we've heard being spoken about a lot, but we've had many great questions in to @privateeducationpodcast about it so we're glad to be covering it with Ireland's leading expert on the condition.
Find out more, access research and read more about Dr McEvoy's research at vaginismusresearchireland.com and on Twitter @Irishvaginismus.
Dr McEvoy also recommends the DCU Healthy Living centre as a great resource, it's linked here.

This week, our guest Hazel Larkin joins us to discuss relationships with narcissists. We talk about how people who have Narcissistic Personality Disorder – which is something that's challenging to diagnose – can leave those they're romantically involved with with lasting trauma.

This week the wonderful Kate Demolder joins us this week to talk about Love Island and the Gaeltacht, and why they're basically the same thing, and why your holiday romance *probably* won't work when you're back in reality. Also, we discuss how the person you turn into when on holiday is an idealised version of yourself. Enjoy! And leave us a review, if you feel like it.
