They discuss the many problems with our school board’s becoming political and she shares what she would do differently, if elected. Carolina has a background in corporate strategic and financial management, she is well-equipped to support the CCSD Board in ensuring financial accountability. CCSD’s 86 schools serve nearly 50,000 students, with more than 40 percent living in poverty, and many requiring special education or social and emotional support. Carolina believes the Board has taken a positive step by adjusting funds to meet the needs of each school, and as a Board member, she would support this approach and remain vigilant in ensuring that all funds dedicated to public schools are spent wisely, and that our schools remain truly public.
