Jenna, Caroline, and producer Alison discuss the first half of the Six Feet Under finale, in which Brenda gives birth to Willa prematurely and is terrorized by Ghost Nate, Claire is offered a job in New York, David agrees to sell the business and then changes his mind, Rico prepares to buy a different funeral home, Ruth does some Swedish death cleaning and decides to move in with Sarah, and Billy and Ted awkwardly meet.
Jenna and Caroline discuss "Static," in which Claire fights with Ted, loses her job, and totals her hearse while driving drunk, David's panic attacks get the best of him, Brenda fights with Ruth about where Maya should live and confronts her inappropriate feelings for Billy, Rico loses his mind because no one will have a meeting with him about the future of the business, and Nate haunts everyone.
Jenna, Caroline, and special guest Meghan Deans discuss "All Alone," in which the Fisher/Chenowith family gives Nate the green funeral he wanted and grieves. David takes on too much responsibility, stops sleeping, and succumbs to panic attacks. Claire turns to Ted and finds a reserve of inner strength. Ruth spends a lot of time ranting in a bathrobe, then settles into the role of caretaker. Brenda is sidelined by everyone. George steps up in an unexpected way, and Maggie is an absolute nightmare, as usual.
Jenna and Caroline discuss "Ecotone," in which Nate is rushed to the hospital after collapsing at Maggie's, has brain surgery, and wakes up from his coma just long enough to end his marriage before dying. Ted and Maggie stay at the hospital all night with the Fishers, making everything better and worse, respectively. Ruth goes camping with Hiram and misses the entire thing.
Jenna, Caroline, and special guest Rosalind Grush discuss "Singing for Our Lives," in which Claire takes Ted on a date to her old friends' student art show, the Fisher and Diaz employees argue about the future of the company, Ruth is an abysmal babysitter to her new grandsons and rekindles her relationship with Hiram, and Nate drags Brenda to the Quaker meeting Maggie attends, then skips the next meeting to commit some light adultery.
Jenna and Caroline discuss "The Silence," in which Ruth has a terrible time at a friend's cocktail party, then learns that George wants a quick divorce because he already has a new fiancée, Keith and David struggle to be good parents, Brenda and Nate receive worrying news about their pregnancy, and Claire goes to a mall bar to socialize with her coworkers.
Jenna, Caroline, and special guest Eric Shethar discuss "The Rainbow of Her Reasons," in which Sarah's friend Fiona Kleinschmidt dies and her friends hold a very feminist and witchy wake, Claire starts a temp job, Ruth tricks George into moving out, David and Keith continue to learn about parenthood, and Vanessa invites Rico to move back in after things go south with her odd Canadian nanny.
Jenna and Caroline discuss "Eat a Peach," in which Keith and David get duped by their surrogate and attend an adoption fair, Margaret ambushes Claire on Billy's behalf, Rico throws Vanessa under the bus when Julio bullies another boy, and Nate and Brenda discuss how to talk to Maya about Lisa.
Jenna, Caroline, and special guest Anita Flores discuss "Time Flies," in which Brenda learns that she's pregnant, Billy grows increasingly unhinged, David and Keith find a surrogate, and Nate fully loses his mind when a bird flies into the house during his surprise fortieth birthday party.
