New York Times Best-Selling Author and Batman Artist, Sean Gordon Murphy, and his wife, romance author Katana Collins give listeners a behind the scenes look into what it's like being two artsy types in one household. Their hilarious discussions are real, raw, and unfiltered as they talk romance, life, comedy, and comics.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all you lovebirds out there! This was one of mine and Sean’s FAVORITE episodes yet! Today, we’re diving back into the topic of how to turn your passion into your career (part 2). While a few weeks ago, it was all about finding motivation to begin, this podcast discusses steps like researching your market, understanding promotion/marketing/publicity, the benefits of masterminds, and much more. So grab a scotch (if you’re Team Sean) or a coffee (if you’re team Katana) and hit play!
At the end of the year, one of the most important things you can do is look back and evaluate what you did right and what you did wrong. It’s like an audit of yourself for 2018. And it’s one of my favorite exercises for growth. That’s exactly what Sean and Katana do in this week’s episode–we go through our year and discuss some of our victories and some of our defeats. Where we think we thrived and where we could better ourselves for 2019.
So grab yourself a cup of coffee (or heck, a glass of champagne… we’re still celebrating the new year, right?) and join us in evaluating your 2018, too!
Merry Christmas, everyone!!! In today’s episode, we talk about MOTIVATION. It’s Part 1 in a series of episodes all about turning your passion into a career. Sean and Katana discuss how to get motivated, how to overcome fears and some of the road blocks of beginning a career, and the psychology of how motivation is the first step to following your passion and making money at it.
In this episode, Katana mentions the book You Are a Badass at Making Money (a HIGHLY recommended read) and you can grab a copy here on Amazon. (It’s also a phenomenal audio book!)
She also has a book called You are a Badass…it’s also good, but a more generalized encouragement/empowerment book and I got a lot more out of the money one!
A couple weeks ago, Sean and I went to see the re-release of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm in theaters. For one night only, it was on the big screen… and here are our thoughts!

In this episode, Sean and Katana debate what truly makes something nerdy–and we tell stories of our nerdiest memories (and OH YES, it gets embarrassing for us!).

Conventions are tricky. There’s SO many people to see, so many parties and schmoozing and drinks and dinners… it can be overwhelming for both introverts (like Katana) and extroverts (like Sean). In this episode, we give some of our best tips and tricks to make the most out of your conventions and conferences!
Sean is in NYC for Comic Con right now! And while that’s super exciting for anyone in attendance, it also means that Katana is home alone taking care of all the pups. And as a result, it’s JUST KATANA this week on our episode of Talk Flirty to Me.
Even though Sean isn’t here, Katana is giving the scoop on some of the best New York City places to grab bites, beers, and java in and around the Javits Center.

For a glance at the first item I ever bought with an acting paycheck… Here it is! Rufus, my big, white teddy bear that I couldn’t separate with when going through my childhood things.
He was worth every penny. He still hangs out in my office.
