There has never been a better time to be a Podcaster. All of the major players online are listening to us, catering to us, and suddenly audio is the new black.
People like you and me believed in the power of Audio content long ago. It almost seems weird to us that the rest of the world is finally beginning to catch on. We know that podcasting (especially indie - podcasting) is a way to get our message across without fear of retribution. There are no "bosses", no gatekeepers, no government regulators, standing in between our message, our voice and our audience.
Now here come all the mega - platforms jumping on the bandwagon.
First we got Clubhouse - and that was all fine because it was meant to be ephemeral content. “Social audio” (I’m using air quotes) suddenly became a hot topic.

SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK:
As informed podcasters, we want our podcasts listed in every directory but the problem with this is, it makes it hard to find a place where your listeners can find your show across all of the apps that they might use to listen to and follow your podcast.
What you really need is one page where you can list all of these options for your listeners, but it’s hard to do this because there are so many different apps out there. Listeners can be annoyed or even frustrated when their podcast listening app of choice is hard to find. This is not a very effective way to grow your show and get more loyal listeners!
In this episdose I share two tools that offer Smart Links that auto-open Podcast Apps and make it easier than ever before to get new listeners for your podcast.

The Anchor voyage is heading in a new direction.
Anchor has announced they will no longer distribute new podcasts to Apple podcasts and they will not automatically generate RSS feeds for new shows hosted on the platform.
Here's a little background; prior to Spotify acquiring Anchor one of the biggest selling points that Anchor used to bring in new podcasters, was that podcasters didn't need to worry about the hassle of submitting their shows to all the major podcasting directories (like Apple Podcasts).
In the past, Anchor pledged to take care of this grueling process for you, behind-the-scenes, and submitted your show to Apple podcast with a randomly-generated email address that was hosted on the Anchor domain.
Well all that is changing! Anchor is no longer going to submit new shows to the Apple podcast directory. Podcasters will be provided instructions on how to do this on their own.

No one saw it coming when Spotify acquired Anchor in February 2019 and since that time podcasting has undergone significant changes. One of the most notable changes is the use of the word "Subscribe" is being replaced by "Follow" in the upcoming update to the Apple Podcasts app.
