The Unsubscribe podcast inspires by sharing the stories of people choosing intentional lives off the beaten neuropathways. How do we escape being shackled by the conventions we were raised with when they no longer serve us? From current and future socially-minded business owners to web-designers-cum-spiritual path-takers, our consciously life-engaging guests let us know how they did it.
Becca Lee has led an unsubscribed life, from leading Outward Bound courses out of college to traveling around in a van (yes!) to training strength-focussed athletes at her gym Strength Ratio, in Asheville NC. We covered training, the challenges of running a business, the responsibility of people to be proactive about maintaining their health, and the personal trajectory of Becca's inspiring life. Such a good conversation.
[…]On the path of continual thriving, the incredibly self-aware Anna Levesque asks the questions – and notices the Unanswerable Question – about how she can best show up in the world to be of greatest service. Water sports, wellness through yoga and ayurveda, not having children, Landmark Education — it's all in here.

This was the first interview I've done on the show with someone I hadn't met before. We were introduced through our common friend Sommerville and Anna definitely fits the Unsubscribe mold. Unsurprisingly, when the recording stopped we had some of the best conversation of the morning, we had just been warming up. Still, the conversation in this episode is packed full of insights and I loved meeting Anna and I learned so much from her, I even had a mini-breakthrough as I was editing and could really pay attention to what she was saying. Give it a listen.
...in which we share the intentions for 2018 of staff and guests at the Blank Plate Boulder New Year's Eve pop-up dinner.
[…]Chef Matt Collier of Seeds Library Café, in addition to having wide ranging experiences and opinions about food, has a goal: put restaurants out of business. He's put in his 10,000 hours and it's beyond rewarding to share this conversation with someone who has internalized so much about the world of food, cooking and restaurants.
[…]I sat down with Sommerville Bevilaqua fresh out of somatic experiencing training and we talk about what that was like, the art and craft of interviewing via Krista Tippett, and her past and current processes of unsubscription. The poetry of Saint Francis, Rilke, and Hafiz may have been butchered along the way.
[…]Do "farm-to-table" restaurants actually buy and serve "Good Food?" Food transparency advocate Sara Brito founded Good Food 100 Restaurants because she wants (all of us) to know! We talk about the steps Sara took to unsubscribe, her journey from a career of branding for Big Food (Domino's!) to her current livelihood of working to increase public awareness of what Good Food is — where it comes from and the impact restaurants and the rest of us have with our financial choices.
[…]...featuring powerhouse Lucy Ross, a self-described full-time dork refining her way down the spiritual path. In our conversation Lucy talks about dealing with depression, approaching a potential mentor, and starting out without working for free.
[…]...in which we have a conversation with Rob Wyatt, a student of Jenna's who is making the most of his current life. In his 20s Rob was a leader of the team that brought the Xbox into the world. He seems to have gotten wilder with age but he calculates the risks of the adventures he chooses for himself and for his daughter.

Lastly, a quick thank you to La Mochila Co-working in Santo Domingo for letting me use their meeting room for some additional recording.
The unassuming Rob Wyatt and I met through Jenna, at one of her All Terrain Yoga classes. I only knew a little about him when we three sat down in front of microphones; I was mesmerized for the next hour-plus.
We hope you're not confused (for too long) when I chime in mid-interview to summarize the key points of a few minutes of dialogue here and there. For the time being we're committed to keeping each edited episode to under an hour.

...in which co-host Jenna speaks with L.R. about his recent re-emergence from his van and the real job of people in the service industry.
