Mixed faith marriages have their own unique complications and issues and Allan & Kattie hold vulnerable conversations about their mixed faith marriage in order to give the listener context and resources to navigate their own relationship.

    Jana Spangler joins Kattie and Allan to talk about her work at Symmetry Sols, her time as a student under Richard Rohr, and so much more.  Jana’s professional and personal experience combined with her training makes her an expert in the field of faith transitions. She is a sought-after podcast guest, speaker, presenter, and retreat leader. She is passionate about helping her clients find and trust their inner compass and make sense of challenging and misunderstood stages of spiritual growth. Her approach to wellness as an Integral Coach utilizes developmental, personality (enneagram), and other lenses. We are so lucky to have her on the show!

    Marriage on a Tightrope is starting 2023 with a BANG.  So many events and announcements to share.

    Marriage on a Tightrope: 130: Handling the Holidays

    Join us Saturday December 17th at 6pm for our Marriage on a Tightrope Couples Christmas party.  It will be at Enlisted Design, 345 Pierpont Ave, Salt Lake City.  It will be potluck style.  Bring something to share, and cans of food for donation to the Utah food bank.

    How do you handle the holidays?  Are certain traditions more difficult, painful or uncomfortable than before?  In this episode, Kattie and Allan discuss how they handle the holidays, teaching about Santa Claus, Christmas music, and tell their story of attending a Christmas concert.

    Marriage on a Tightrope: 129: Aubrey and Tim Chaves

    Aubrey and Tim Chaves are the hosts of the Faith Matters podcast and part of its executive board. They grew up near Salt Lake City, Utah and went to both middle school and high school together. Tim served an LDS mission to Montevideo, Uruguay. He attended BYU for his undergraduate studies before earning an MBA from Harvard Business School, and is now an entrepreneur working in Utah County. Aubrey received a degree in Elementary Education from Utah State before teaching fourth grade; she now owns a cake decorating business. Tim and Aubrey are the parents of four children.

    Marriage on a Tightrope: 128: Margi and John Dehlin

    Margi Dehlin graduated from BYU with a major in English and philosophy.  She did both cross country and track there as well.  She loves the beauty of the outdoors, reading a good book and creating deep abiding connections to those she loves most.  She is a certified life coach through the Life Purpose Institute, specializing in life transitions. You’ll also see her as a co-host on Mormon Stories. You can learn more about Margi at beautyinthenow.org

    Dr. John Dehlin is the host of Mormon Stories, the longest running podcast in Mormonism, a non-profit CEO, activist, public speaker, and religious transitions coach.  He is an expert in understanding and supporting people experiencing religious faith crises/transitions. John has a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology and a Ph.D. in Clinical and Counseling Psychology.  His clinical training focus on navigating religious faith crises, mixed-faith marriages and religious and or LGBTQ identity conflict.

    The Dehlin’s live in Holliday and have 4 children.
