Australia marks Citizenship Day on 17 September, and this year celebrates the 75th anniversary of Australian citizenship. In the financial year 2023-2024, more than 187,000 people became Australian citizens. The Locals is a youth group based in Kathmandu that works towards preserving 'Newa' culture through music, dance and various art forms. The organisation's general secretary Sandesh Manandhar says he was only 16 years old when the group was formed last year.
