Undeclared! The Punisher, S1E11 Danger Close

We’re getting closer to the end of the season, and we’re going to see who’s angrier with Billy. Is it Madani? Is it Frank? Or is it Jaime?


My money is on Jaime.


Seriously, though, editing this today was hard because it’s a reminder of how lucky I am when I get to record with Jaime and talk to her about things we love. This show being high on that list. We appreciate your understanding that we don’t want these gaps happening any more than you do, and we hope this is a nice surprise at the end of the holidays.

It’s officially 2019 in every sense of the word. Krista and Jaime are back to recording, and we’re both so glad to see our boy Frank being more clever than ever in this episode. We find a bit more loss in Lewis as it turns out the writers decided to make Lewis something of a scholar even if he doesn’t seem to understand how to take good care of other people’s pets. The sadness over Jaime’s boyfriend continues.

You now have all the episodes we recorded in 2018. We left Jaime having to cope with her fears that something else might happen to Curtis after Lewis did the unthinkable to a man too pure for the Marvel Netflix world.


The timing of recording this episode and the show’s topics dovetailed into some events that were happening in the United States in real life, so there’s a brief intro to provide context to the discussion. We both can’t wait to get back into the swing of things as Jaime and Krista wrap up their other currently running show, The Constant: LOST.

After a heck of a hiatus, we’re back. We recorded this back in January of 2018, so everything is still fresh in Jaime’s mind, including her anger toward Billy. We talk about the fallout of the heroin smuggling, how it changed nearly everyone’s lives in the show, and how the people around Frank change his methods.

Frank’s going to survive his wounds from last episode; Micro and he are stronger friends than ever; Madani and Billy are using each other in more ways than one; and Lewis finally is pushed too far. No one blows up, but it’s still a nerve-wracking episode with a few surprises. Especially for Jaime, whose theories thus far are put to the test.


But the real question is whether she says “Goddammit, Billy!” or “#protectcurtis” more often. If it were a drinking game, the players would die of alcohol poisoning. Her reactions are all Krista could have ever hoped for and more. And we’re not kidding about the t-shirts.

After a much longer hiatus than any of us enjoyed due to illness, Krista and Jaime have a very special episode with guest host Jim Beverly, Executive Producer of Hero Movie Podcast and Iraq War veteran. He provides some insight and gravitas after Jaime and Krista give a positive feminist critique of a particular scene.

We’re back after the holidays with more mayhem, murder, and Micro! Madani! Muscle cars! All of the above!
