    Make Peace With Your Purpose

Have you ever found yourself wrestling with your purpose, feeling like you're at odds with the path you're meant to walk? This month, it’s all about how purpose evolves, but it’s clear that many of us are at war with what we are called to do in this season. You're not alone. In this episode, we're making peace with our purpose.

First, what are the signs or indications that you are at war with your purpose? Maybe you’re annoyed, irritable, you might feel like something is just “off,” or maybe you don’t have the same passion and drive you used to have. You might be at war with the idea of dreaming a new dream. When you are unfulfilled in what you do everyday, there’s a void. And the longer you go, the deeper and wider that void becomes.

If this speaks to you, now what?

Listen on to learn the complexities of purpose and explore how it evolves over time. You'll discover how to navigate the tension between who you've been and who you're becoming, and make peace with the different aspects of your purpose that may be causing this inner conflict.

If we’re going to allow our purpose to evolve, we have to make peace with ourselves.

    Show Notes:

[5:40] - There is conflict between who you’ve been and who you are becoming.

[8:22] - You have to make peace with the people that your purpose is attached to.

[15:58] - We are at war with the position we are being called into.

[17:14] - We dismiss and diminish God-given talents simply because we didn’t have to work on it and it came easily.

[20:04] - Sometimes a position pivot means step forward, but sometimes it means to step back and leave something behind.

[22:49] - Make peace with the paycheck or lack thereof.

[30:32] - Make peace with the process.

[31:38] - When you are being called to something new, it is normal to grieve, feel uncomfortable, and feel crazy.

How to Pivot with Ease When You Don’t Know Where to Start

Are you in a season of dreaming a new dream? Have you been feeling the need to change, shift, or pivot in a new direction? Maybe you can sense this need, but you’re grappling with uncertainty and resistance.

When we are being called to pivot, we can struggle when we feel uncertain about what is going on. But we have to listen. We have to know the signs and indicators that we are ready for a pivot while they are pebbles and not yet boulders.

This episode is all about navigating the journey of embracing change, whether it’s in your career, relationships, or personal endeavors. From recognizing the subtle whispers of discontent to embracing the signs pointing towards a new path, this episode has a lot of honest and practical strategies to help you pivot with grace and dignity.

You are not alone. We have all experienced, in some way or another, a reset or a refresh in the last few years. But we haven’t all experienced it the same way, nor have we prepared ourselves for the evolution we’re called to make.

So listen on to learn the signs that you might be ready for a pivot, how to notice these signs before they blow up, and how to embrace change and overcome resistance.

    Show Notes:

[2:13] - I pivot with ease, grace, and dignity.

[7:53] - Most of us don’t shift at the start of the whispers. We wait for the blow up.

[11:27] - One of the first signs is feeling disinterested and unfulfilled.

[16:35] - You don’t have to wait till it is a boulder. It is time to allow yourself to evolve.

[19:01] - Ease does not mean easy.

[22:36] - You cannot pivot with ease if you are misaligned.

    [23:19] - Embrace the signs.

    [26:41] - Expect resistance.

[29:08] - Examine your motivation and intention.

We'll unpack all those thoughts that consume us when we find ourselves in the turbulence of purpose – the conflict, the confusion, the instability. But here's the thing: it's all part of the journey. Just because we've been given a vision or a calling doesn't mean the path will always be smooth sailing.

    Show Notes:

[3:15] - In life, turbulence is conflict or confusion. It can also mean instability and unrest.

How to Remove the Burden of Shame with Latoya Mathews

Welcome to this episode of Redefining Wealth, where we are focusing on the theme of “Be Free.” Today, I’m joined by Latoya Matthews, a woman of courage and resilience, as we explore the power of embracing one's story and breaking free from the chains of shame. In this month's theme of "Be Free," we are on a journey of faith and fearlessness, recognizing that true wealth encompasses the freedom to live authentically and pursue our deepest desires. Latoya's journey embodies the essence of liberation, inspiring us to confront our past traumas and rewrite the narratives that have held us captive.

Latoya is a grace-filled freedom coach with a reputation as a beacon of hope for leading women who have experienced shame and self-condemnation to wholeness and freedom. She spearheaded and launched a host of dynamic faith based initiatives in her quest to see women empowered and set free from emotional, childhood, and broken relationship trauma. She hosts an annual three-day retreat entitled The Free Woman: The Sacred Space for Women to Gather and Heal. She’s here today to share a bit about her debut memoir Unveiled Freedom.

*DISCLAIMER: If you are sensitive to the topic of abortion, this may not be the episode for you because that is a part of Latoya’s story. Many of us have things in our lives that have kept us ashamed and tried to abort us from freedom. There are things that we were told to feel shame for and instantly felt shame for that have been following us our whole lives.

    Show Notes:

[5:00] - I am liberated to live boldly.

[11:48] - You may not have had an abortion in your life, but you’ve had experiences that have tried to abort your destiny.

[14:08] - We try to cover ourselves up so we don’t see the shame.

[16:37] - How many of us have something that we have normalized that is connected to shame?

[19:13] - There is a cost to not knowing who you are. Shame is a hindrance to your purpose.

[21:07] - Start by finding a safe space to tell your story.

[23:45] - Everyone has the power to change, but not everybody has the desire to do so.

[26:13] - If you feel like your story is a part of your purpose, you need to go through the process of owning it.

[38:14] - It is too much to take on the judgment of others, especially when we already judge ourselves.

[42:43] - You have to be committed to the healing process to be vulnerable enough to share your story.

6 Signs You’re Not as Free as You Think You Are and What to Do About It

Hey there, Purpose Chasers! I'm really excited about today's topic because it's something that's been truly on my heart lately.

So, this month, our theme is Set Free. We're diving deep into what it truly means to live a life of abundance and liberation. But here's the thing: in order to experience that freedom, we have to be willing to do the work, to do our part. We have to be open to allowing ourselves to be set free from anything that's holding us back.

You see, many of us walk around carrying this illusion of freedom, but deep down, we're still chained to “pretty prisons” – whether it's external definitions of wealth, the fear of being radically honest with ourselves, or the need for validation from others.

In today's episode, we're going to explore six signs that might indicate you're not as free as you think you are. From using external measures to define your worth to feeling like your days are on autopilot, you might hear the exact reason you are stuck. But don't worry, it is never too late to make a change, even if it is as simple as your lipstick color.

I truly hope this episode is a blessing to you and that it sparks some meaningful insights as you continue on your path to true freedom. It is time to live free.

    Show Notes:

[3:26] - I am free to live life on my own terms.

[4:33] - We need to ask ourselves better questions to get better answers.

[6:19] - Instead of thinking about external factors, do your own work on your behavior and beliefs.

[8:07] - Many of us have built ourselves a pretty prison and are lonely in plain sight.

[10:29] - What have we allowed ourselves to become chained to?

[12:19] - One of the first signs that you are not as free as you think you are is using external definitions to describe wealth.

[13:51] - If radical honesty scares you, you are not free. It is the ultimate expression of self love.

[15:17] - Being able to embrace vulnerability is the pathway to a deeper relationship.

[17:16] - You are not free if you are still attached to people agreeing with your choices.

[19:40] - It’s not really a failure. It’s a lesson to learn from and move on.

[22:51] - You are not living freely if you feel like your days are on autopilot.

[25:10] - Make a commitment to try something new.

[26:03] - You are not free if your financial life has been stagnant for more than three years.

[29:54] - You are not free if you are not clear about your purpose.

[32:16] - The path to purpose is rooted in self-discovery.

[33:24] - Be honest. First with yourself and then find people you can be honest with.

[35:29] - Pay attention to your language and start to use freeing language.

[37:37] - The path to truly living abundantly requires awakening, redefining, and actualizing.

Wisdom Point #13 - If You're Feeling Stuck, Listen to This!

Welcome back to another Wisdom Point! Today, we're diving into a topic that hits close to home for many of us: feeling stuck. You know that feeling when you're standing at a crossroads, knowing there's something more out there for you, but you just don’t know how to take the next step?

This month, our theme is Set Free: Unchain Your Fears and Walk in Faith. If you're finding yourself in a place that you once prayed for but now feels more like a prison than a blessing, you're not alone. I see you, and I understand.

In today's Wisdom Point, we’re revisiting an episode called Prisoner to Purpose and getting real about misalignment and how it's holding us back from living our fullest lives. We'll explore how to break free from those pretty prisons we've created for ourselves and start participating in our own rescue.

    Show Notes:

[2:44] - Misalignment is not freedom.

[3:56] - We may feel a lack of liberty to take the action we’re called to do.

[6:49] - How do you take this thing that you are great at and transfer it to something that is in alignment?

[8:23] - We have to participate in our own rescue.

[9:11] - What pretty prisons have you created in your life?

[10:50] - Find the monthly guide in the Redefining Wealth App.

[12:27] - When we don’t ask ourselves better questions, we become controlled by expectations and then begin to believe the lies and make incorrect assessments about ourselves.
