Noah the Compassionate: Sleepless on the Ark
The Month of MarCheshvan: Water, Faith, Disappointment… and The Best is Yet to Come
In this week’s Torah portion of Noach, we read about the Generation of the Flood, whose fate for destruction was sealed. They are considered to be the most depraved generation of all time, characterized by selective justice, cognitive dissonance, and institutionalized immorality. Sound familiar? Switch to the majority of contemporary Western society. This week’s edition of Temple Talk finds our hosts delving deeply into the nature of water, faith, the Great Flood, and more. Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Richman also help us get ready for next Monday, the sixth day of MarCheshvan, the day upon which the illustrious Rambam risked it all just to be able to pray on the Temple Mount. That day is now celebrated by Temple Mount advocates as a day of unity and joy. Tune into this week’s Temple Talk for inspiration and information!

A Comfy Cushion for Tisha B’Av Mourning?
The Temple Institute Establishes the World’s First School for Training Kohanim for the Service of the Holy Temple
This week those in the Diaspora catch up with their brethren in the Land of Israel, with the Torah readings of Matot and Masei… and, this Friday we shall all welcome the new month of Menachem Av, the Consoling Father. As the month of Av enters, our traditional customs of mourning are ratcheted up, and the process of introspection and mourning for the loss of the Holy Temple intensifies as the Ninth of Av draws closer. This week’s Temple Talk takes a hard look at what has become the yearly cycle of mourning for the Temple, and asks: Has it evolved into a yearly cycle of avoidance? Why has the rebuilding of the Holy Temple become mythologized? If we believe the Holy Temple has to become real, then we need to prepared for its resumption in every way…. that’s why the Temple Institute has established Nezer HaKodesh, the world’s first school for training kohanim (Levitical priests) for their service in the Holy Temple.
