Vegan Snack Attack is back with another fun Portland-based vegan business. This time, Jon talks with his friends/colleagues at Driftwood Magazine, Holly Feral and Michele Truty! Listen to how they created the first (and only) vegan travel & culture magazine from the ground up. Big shout-out to Natalie AKA @VeganKitten, who brought them and Jon together!

Vegan Snack Attack is now based in Portland, OR and Jon couldn't be more excited to have this guest for his first PDX episode! It's Xak Grossman. The name may not be too familiar yet, but give it some time - Xak is fresh off a successful kickstarter for a vegan tuna salad alternative cleverly called Tofuna Fysh! Xak tells Jon all about his journey from vegetarian business student to vegan business owner in a super short time. Xak also dabbles in anti factory-farming spoken word, which you can hear at the end of the episode.
Jon hangs out with Heather and Jenny (AKA - THE SPORK GIRLS) to talk about their experiences as vegan cooking instructors, cookbook authors, travelers, eaters, etc. They discuss their preferred snacks from around the world!
One of the tricky parts of being vegan or vegetarian can be dating. Do you search for an open-minded omnivore? Do you seek out someone with your exact lifestly/dietary views? You need to answer that for yourself, but to talk about it more clearly, Jon chats with Dave Rubin, who runs VeggieDate.org - the biggest dating website geared specifically to those who live a vegetarian lifestyle. Dave also gives the secret smoothie recipe that fuels his web-development mojo!
Jon hangs out with vegan chef/actor/future-author, Ayinde Howell! They talk about Ayinde's history as a vegan - living proof that you can be vegan from birth and grow up to be an awesome adult! Most importantly, they discuss the future Macaroni & Yease truck that is soon to hit Los Angeles, as soon as Ayinde raises enough money on kickstarter.
Jason Wrobel is one of the biggest names in the vegan world right now. A 15 year vegan veteran, Jason has released books, hundreds of YouTube videos and now a TV Show on the Cooking Channel all about veganism. Jason and Jon talk about blood type diets, being vegan in Detroit and Alabama, raw diets and much much more. Jason's snacks are also on another level. He and Jon snack on homemade quinoa crispies and thin mints (courtesy of "Ma Wro") and lychees!
