How the federal funding freeze impacts YOU. 

In a legally questionable move, President Trump has issued a federal funding freeze on all public loans, grants, and federal assistance programs. $3 trillion dollars were spent on federal assistance programs in 2024, money that helps fund universities, non-profits, small businesses, and local government grants. These programs touch countless American lives.

Former President Biden issued a flurry of last-minute pardons including preemptive pardons for his own family. So he knows how to look out for his own but not our own, got it. We’ll talk about who did NOT get a pardon (Marilyn Mosby)–meanwhile Trump jailbreaks the J6 insurrectionists.

Rappers Nelly and Snoop Dogg performed at Trump’s inauguration despite past anti-Trump comments. “It’s not political,” Nelly said. “It’s out of respect for the office.” Is there any benefit for the Black community to engage with the Trump administration or are artists like Nelly and Snoop just being used? 

The hosts debate when the idea of “no permanent friends, no permanent enemies, only permanent interests” comes into play when dealing with Trump and his government.

The DOJ has released a review of the Tulsa massacre. They found that the race riot was a “coordinated, military style attack” against the Black community but there’s no one left to prosecute. What’s next for the survivors? 

Trump’s cabinet is being confirmed by the Senate this week, including some of his more controversial picks like Christian Crusader Pete Hegseth. Our hosts track which confirmations deserve our attention and share some spicy moments from earlier in the week.
