"Meet me at Musial" is a trademark of St. Louis, where the Musial statue is a rallying point. Every week, two far-flung fans virtually "meet at Musial" to go over the latest in Cardinal news and discussion. Daniel Shoptaw (@C70, from Arkansas) and Allen Medlock (@amedlock1, Oklahoma) prove that great Cardinal talk can come anywhere in Cardinal Nation when you meet up to discuss your favorite team.
Rain or shine, activity or not, if it's closing in on spring training it means it's time for Katie Woo (@katiejwoo) to stop by the show. Daniel (@C70) and Katie talk about her new podcast and the bravery that she recently showed on there plus how Trevor Rosenthal got added to the mix. Then they spend time on the surprisingly quiet winter, talking about what the Cards haven't done as well as what this team will look like in 2025. Who is the face of the team at the end of the year? How will the roster shake out? All that and much more in a fun conversation!

With Allen (@amedlock1) still out on assignment, Daniel (@C70) gets a chance to talk all things Cardinals with Matt Pauley of KMOX (@MattPauleyOnAir). With Matt's background in Milwaukee, the guys talk first about the passing of Bob Uecker, then get into the St. Louis team. What did going out on the Cardinal Caravan tell Matt about the team and the fanbase? Will we hear much from Chaim Bloom this summer? Why are the Cardinals going to arbitration over such small amounts? All that plus some talk about John Stuper from Richard (@remembirds)!

It's a special show this week as Daniel (@C70) welcomes in St. Louis legend Bernie Miklasz (@b_miklasz) to the show for the first time with Allen (@amedlock1) unavoidably detained with AD duties. The guys talk about Bernie's embrace of podcasting as well as writing and how his radio background informs his approach. Then they tackle the cold Cardinal winter, weaving in recent Cardinal history as they look at the problems of the team before wrapping up by discussing some of the current players on the squad. Plus Rich (@remembirds) brings us some Dizzy Dean knowledge. It's a full and fun show!

You know how, when there's a snow on the ground, everything is just remarkably still and quiet? Yeah, that's the sound of the Cardinals this offseason. It might be a quiet winter but that doesn't mean Daniel (@C70) can't find ways to discuss it with long-time foil Brenden Schaeffer (@bschaeffer12). There's a lot of talk about the Arenado situation, of course, but also whether the team truly believes they can walk the compete/develop line, whether they are being too dramatic about payroll, and how exciting the team actually could be in 2025. Plus there's a little podcasting shop talk and we've got another history moment from Richard (@remembirds)!

Season 11 of the show starts off the way many of them have, with Daniel (@C70) and Allen (@amedlock1) breaking things down with Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat. In a wide-ranging conversation, the guys talk about why 2024 seems to feel just as bad as 2023 even though it wasn't, what things may look like with or without Nolan Arenado, Jeff's guess for a free agent signing, and thoughts about the younger players. Plus they discuss whether John Mozeliak is getting a little less guarded in his final year and whether the team messaging is changing. All that and much more as we start 2025!

It's been a quiet winter but Daniel (@C70) and Allen (@amedlock1) couldn't let the year finish up without one more episode. The guys deal with the Nolan Arenado talk, wondering if he actually will be a Cardinal in 2025. Should they move him just to free up salary? What happens if he's still with the club come spring? The guys also talk about the youth movement, discussing players that should be in line for a contract extension. Plus they weigh in on the holiday topic of fruitcake, which is obviously bigger than anything else. Plus Richard (@remembirds) brings us talk about Roger Maris!

After an enjoyable holiday break, Daniel (@C70) and Allen (@amedlock1) are back at it again, even if there isn't just a lot of Cardinal news to break down. There have been some front office hires since the last show. What does where they came from tell us about the approach of the front office? There's also been some buzz around Nolan Arenado and Ryan Helsley, but not in the way we initially thought. Will they both be back next year? Plus a little discussion of the Winter Meetings and another history moment from Richard Bray (@remembirds). Give it a listen!

For the first week of November, it was a newsy week for the St. Louis Cardinals. GM meetings will do that, I guess. The Cardinals announced that Willson Contreras was moving to a 1B/DH role as well as his desire to stay in St. Louis. Daniel (@C70) and Allen (@amedlock1) discuss the ramifications of this news. What does it mean for the catching position? Will it be more 1B or DH for Contreras? Is this an offshoot of the new focus on development? Sonny Gray is also reported to want to stay--is that a surprise? Nolan Arenado, apparently, is open to moving on. If that happens, how will we remember the Goldnado era? Are they Cardinal Hall of Famers? Finally, blackouts seem to be done in the St. Louis market with the new agreement with FanDuel Sports Midwest. And there was much rejoicing.

The calendar (if not the weather) has flipped to November and another baseball season is fully behind us with the crowning of a new World Series Champion. Daniel (@C70) and Allen (@amedlock1) spend a little time on the Series before diving into the Cardinals news of the week, the declining of options. Lance Lynn, Kyle Gibson, and Keynan Middleton all enter the free agent market. Is that a surprise? Does it tell us anything? What are we to make, if anything, from the waiver claim of Roddery Munoz from the Marlins? Is there any chance the Cards offer Paul Goldschmidt the qualifying offer? Plus trade talk and another history moment from @remembirds!

For the fact they aren't playing, it was kind of a busy week for the St. Louis Cardinals. Daniel (@C70) and Allen (@amedlock1) are here to talk about the new additions after first talking about last night's Game 1 of the World Series. Jon Jay and Brant Brown are new coaches while Willie McGee shifts to an advisor role. Is it a good thing Jay is returning or does it go to the insular nature the club is supposed to be breaking free from? What role does Skip Schmaker play in all this? Will Rob Cerfolio bring in more folks from Cleveland or branch out with his hires? All this plus another look back at history (and a very timely one after last night!) with @remembirds!

Call us C-3PO because we're telling you the odds. Daniel (@C70) and Allen (@amedlock1) kick off what might be a fairly quiet winter by talking about their impressions of what the Cardinals are going to do. Is "reset" truly the right word? Can the Cardinals have a similar record next year? How much would our impressions of things change if Ryan Helsley had been healthy in the 2022 postseason? Then they get into the percentages--how likely is it that people like Helsley, Sonny Gray, and Nolan Arenado are traded? All that and another History Harkback to a great moment in Cardinal playoff history from @remembirds!
