The Best Little Whorehouse in South Carolina

Join the Wicked South Podcast crew as they interview David Hodges, an author who has spent years uncovering the secrets of Sunset Lodge and its amazing stories, including the unbelievable tale of an errant husband who got "trapped" when his angry wife showed up at the front door – and how he "escaped."

Headless Horror in Colleton County
The remains of a human head were discovered in rural Colleton County this week, and police are searching for the missing body in a bizarre case that has captured media and public attention. But this is not the first time a human skull – with no body – has been found near Walterboro, S.C., the town that hosted Alex Murdaugh’s double murder trial.
Other skeletal remains and unsolved murders also haunt this area of the 14th Judicial Circuit, where the criminal justice system was once ruled by the Murdaugh family of solicitors.

Modern Day Moonshine Part Two – Born to Bootleg
In the second installment of a two-part series on
modern day moonshining and South Carolina's moonshine culture, we welcome two
special guests, Trey Boggs, who is a descendant of a bootlegger, a modern-day
distiller, and co-owner of Palmetto Pride Distillery; and Brigid Fackrell, co-owner
of Rotten Little Bastard Distillery and a descendant of an Alcohol Tobacco and
Firearms agent who spent his career chasing moonshiners.
These special guests have family roots steeped in bootleg traditions, on both sides
of the law, who have successfully made moonshine a respectable part of our South
Carolina culture and heritage.
Michael DeWitt is the author of Wicked Hampton County and his new book The Fall of The House of Murdaugh will be released soon.
