Original episode notes:
In this quickie intro episode to The Star Wars Canon Timeline Podcast, you’ll learn not only what all those words mean (in the context of Star Wars), but also how this podcast works – how this experiment in creating a chronological timeline amidst a chaotic release order will unfold, and what to expect from the journey.
I break down the 9 eras of Star Wars history we’re covering – starting thousands of years in the past, through weekly releases of the upcoming series The Acolyte – as well as what kinds of guests to expect, essential Star Wars timeline lingo, and how this podcast is designed for both old fans and fresh faces who are Star Wars-curious.
This Is the Way.

You are overdue an update – so here it is! Elysia fills you in on what's been going on, what's coming next (it's the episodes you've been owed!), and then drops a 15-minute teaser of the 2024 Oscars prep series she and David have been cooking up over on The Lorehounds feed.
If you like what you hear in this preview, you can listen to episode 1 (of 3) here: Oscars – Part 1 – The Headliners
Happy Holidays from Wool-Shift-Dust! In this winter special, Elysia and Luke explore one of the original alternate timeline stories: the iconic It's a Wonderful Life (1946), plus the other films it spawned – including remake It Happened One Christmas (1977), the amusingly terrible unofficial sequel Clarence (1990), and the looser remakes It's a Very Merry Muppets Christmas (2002), The Christmas Spirit (2013), and the 2023 horror comedy It's a Wonderful Knife. Don't worry if you haven't seen any of them – we'll recap them all, and then talk about why you should care, and all the good, the bad, and the ugly within.
Also, Elysia explains "The Greatest Gift," the short story It's a Wonderful Life is based on, (with a special performance by DeadEyeJediBob) – plus the song "Auld Lang Syne" – in the Wool-Shift-Dust Book Club.

With no future book spoilers, book-reader Elysia and show-only Luke dig into the first two episodes of Beacon 23, the new space-centric sci-fi on MGM+ starring Lena Heady and Stephan James, adapted from the Book by Hugh Howey. Find out why the title of the pilot, "Corbenic," is apt, why the quantum tunneler is low-key the coolest tech on the show, and which couple we're really shipping.

Happy Halloween from Wool-Shift-Dust! In this special episode Elysia is joined by her real-life horror-loving sister, Ashley, to break down the Netflix horror special The Fall of the House of Usher. We go deep into the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe to dig up all the dirt Mike Flanagan use to sculpt this excellent adaptation – expect information and insight laced with silliness and some spooky sound effects, touching on all the important topics from which Poe story episode 6 is really based on to all the juicy gossip about Poe's biggest romances and rivalries.
