Moving Past Trauma with Collier Landry

Collier Landry

I decided at an early age that our trauma should not be what defines us; it’s what we choose to do with it that does. After the trauma, this about what came next.

Life Update, The BBC, Collier & Victim Rights Attorney Sarah Ford discuss Coercive Control & Mica Miller

    #micamiller #truecrime #mentalhealth

Victim Rights Attorney Sarah A. Ford joins the program to discuss the Mica Miller case.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- There is an unexpected twist in the death of a South Carolina pastor's wife after the sheriff announced the FBI and U.S. attorney are helping in the Mica Miller investigation.

The 30-year-old woman was found dead in April.

However, investigators say she called 911 moments before she was found dead at a state park in North Carolina, which was about an hour north of where she lived in Myrtle Beach.

Mica's death came just days after she told a police officer "she was scared for her life" after finding a GPS tracker on her car and a razor blade in her tire.

She and her husband, John Paul Miller, were also in the process of separating. He was a pastor at a local church but has since been released from his duties.

    About my guest:

Sarah A. Ford is a Victim Rights Attorney from South Carolina, where she was born and raised. She is a former public defender (2 years) and prosecutor (8 years), where she focused on crimes against women and children. Sarah has been the legal Director at the South Carolina Victim Assistance Network since 2017. She trains folks across SC and nationally on victim rights, domestic violence and sexual assault, and best practices on victim-centered investigations and prosecutions, among other topics. How Intergenerational Trauma Is Used to Excuse Narcissistic Criminal Behavior

Is intergenerational trauma just an excuse for bad behavior used by narcissists to get away with their wanton behavior?

Collier Landry and guest Dr. Roger Rhoades discuss the epidemic rise of the intergenerational trauma excuse being used to mask criminal narcissism. Sighting the recent case of Senator Robert Menendez, a New Jersey Democrat charged with accepting bribes, including cash, gold bars, and a Mercedes-Benz, in exchange for political favors to foreign governments. Sen. Menendez’s attorneys revealed they planned to call a New York psychiatrist to testify that the senator’s “intergenerational trauma” created an undisclosed mental health disorder that caused him to store his riches at home.

Dr. Rhoades also shares his thoughts on True Crime Perpetrators Alex Murdaugh, Chad Daybell, P Diddy, and Charlie and Donna Adelson.

Collier makes some revelations in his own life dealing with narcissism in his romantic life.

    About my guest:

Narcissistic Manipulation Behind Bars- Prison Letters

    #narcissist #truecrime #mentalhealth

Today, I break down one of my father's letters from prison, in which he attempts to gaslight and manipulate me as a child. I break down key elements of the letter that I feel either expose narcissistic traits that we might also find in others or that stem into other areas of malignant narcissism or emotional manipulation.

*Please note I am not a mental health professional nor am I attempting to diagnose someone, I am only pointing out things that I have learned throughout my years fo dealing with this type of emotional manipulation firsthand.

It should be noted that people who suffer from narcissistic personality disorder rarely seek treatment. This is due to their perception of their self-image as they see themselves as special, unique, and above standard. Their fragile ego is unable to accept any flaws or imperfections and thus inflates their own self-image to improve their own self-esteem. Moreover, they project their imperfections on others and blame others for everything that goes wrong.

LIVE: Murderer Rebecca Grossman's Jailhouse Calls ‘Naive,’ but not Conniving, says Judge.

Here's a special (limited-time) deal for our listeners. Right now, get 50% off a ONE-TIME PAYMENT FOR A LIFETIME Babbel subscription - but only for our listeners - at https://babbel.com/collier

Convicted Murderer Rebecca Grossman, the SoCal Socialite who Killed Two Boys While Racing Her Lover, ruled ‘naive,’ not conniving, with jailhouse calls as the judge refuses to reprimand her further.

Convicted murderer Rebecca Grossman’s jailhouse telephone antics aren’t worthy of any sanctions, a judge ruled Friday, calling her actions the result of “naivety” while agreeing to delay her sentencing by two additional months.

Prosecutors had sought to have Grossman’s jailhouse privileges revoked after a series of recorded telephone calls from the Twin Towers jail to her family instructed them to release evidence that had been sealed during her double murder trial and to track down witnesses to get them to say their testimony was directed.

Grossman has been awaiting sentencing since her Feb. 23 conviction of second-degree murder in the deaths of two brothers who were struck and killed in a crosswalk as she sped along a residential Westlake Village street in September 2020.
