Love Letters, Life and Other Conversations

Jane Webster and Wendy Harrop

Each week Jane Webster and Wendy Harrop use a love letter as a springboard for soulful and rich conversation. What is a love letter? It is a letter, a text, a poem, a direct message, a drawing, a voice message, a watercolor, a recipe, a cup of tea, a smile, a home-baked meal delivered. It's anything that connects us and makes us feel all those messy emotions, that without life would be pretty beige.“What is most personal is most universal.” ~ Carl R. RogersWhat connects them to the letter will undoubtedly connect you as well.

Saying YES to Betting On Yourself and Reclaiming Your Passions with Carrie Madsen

Say YES to Paris & Versailles December 27th - January 2nd

In this episode, Wendy and her guest, Carrie Madsen, dive into the power of betting on yourself and reigniting passions that may have been set aside. Carrie shares insights on the courage it takes to step back into your dreams, the freedom found in embracing playfulness, and the ways we can resist perfectionism to fully express ourselves. They discuss how facing fear—rather than pushing it down—can reveal powerful truths, and how reconnecting with what lights us up can bring us closer to our most authentic selves. Whether you’re looking to rekindle an old passion or find new courage to follow your path, this conversation offers inspiration to say “yes!” to the journey and bring a bit of your “heaven to earth.”

    About Carrie:
Carrie Madsen is a performing artist who lives in Los Angeles where she moved to from Northern California over 10 years ago to take Hollywood by storm…at 40! *crickets*

Her first love is musical theatre and she has appeared in over 100 musicals and choreographed over 150.

She has appeared professionally on stage and on TV playing recurring guest characters on well known shows like Jane the Virgin, Gilmore Girls, Good Girls Revolt and James Corden’s The Late Late Show.

She still loves to perform and regularly works as a voice dubbing artist for Netflix foreign programming however something else is begging her to be born.

Carrie is returning to her creative roots to bring dance to adults through a vehicle she calls 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲!™️. It’s for people to have as much joy and fun as possible learning a dance number with a theme and character emphasis. It incorporates staging, not just steps, so this creates a bond among the participants. They play together to bring the number— a story— to life.  It’s like getting the opportunity to be in a musical or a dance scene in a movie 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅. That’s the magic sauce- this is for all levels with no pressure. Carrie has this ability to host a creative space where Broadway performers dance alongside computer programmers and it works!  Her superpower is making it possible for EVERYbody to dance, have fun, and feel included.

If you're exhausted from the constant cycle of cleaning and organizing without feeling in control, this episode is a game-changer. Lisa reveals why traditional goals like keeping up with laundry and dishes are never-ending traps and how to approach them differently. Learn how to become both the CEO and COO of your household by implementing systems like the Sunday Basket, designed to cut down on decision fatigue and help you reclaim your mental energy. Lisa’s proven strategies for decluttering, organizing, and planning will empower you to take charge and live proactively, so you can finally feel at peace in your home.

    About Lisa:
Lisa, along with 87% of Americans, believes organization is a learnable skill. Yet less than 18% of those same Americans feel they are organized. Through Organize 365®’s courses, Lisa aims to teach Americans young and old the skill of organizing and unlocking their time for what they are uniquely created to do.

Under Lisa’s direction, Organize 365 has conducted academic research, establishing the definitions of housework, home organization, and the weight of paper in the American home. This ongoing research is making the invisible work at home visible to all. Now in pursuit of her PhD, Lisa is moving our collective experience into the field of academia.

She is the author of four books, including "How ADHD Affects Home Organization" and "The Paper Solution". Lisa’s understanding of the lived female American experience has helped her to articulate why women are overwhelmed, tired, and what to do about it! Through The Sunday Basket®, Lisa helps externalize the routine tasks that take up the executive functioning capacity of our brains; freeing us up to think and create again!

Saying YES to Bold Adventures and Unleashing New Boundaries at Any Age with Anna Hergert

In this inspiring episode, Wendy sits down with adventurer Anna Hergert to explore the transformative power of saying yes to new experiences—whether it’s paddling a kayak in the ocean for the first time or conquering one of Nova Scotia’s most challenging hikes solo. At 67, Anna shares how she has found a renewed sense of purpose and connection in her life, proving that age is no barrier to adventure. From navigating the highest tides in the world in the Bay of Fundy to designing custom, one-of-a-kind tours, Anna reveals the importance of embracing both physical and mental fitness as part of her commitment to herself. She also opens up about the lessons learned from balancing spontaneity with self-care, and how taking a step back before saying yes has helped her avoid burnout. Wendy reflects on her own journey as a guide, sharing how these moments of adventure and self-renewal aren’t just about trying something new—they’re about bringing the full breadth of your life experience into each moment. Join Wendy and Anna for a conversation full of wisdom, daring adventures, and the powerful ripple effects that come from honoring your own journey.

    About Anna:
Anna Herbert operates Tide Rollers and Mud Lurkers in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. Her custom tour company has a focus on creating memorable experiences for most abilities while exploring the ocean floor in the Bay of Fundy with the highest recorded tides in the world. Before she moved to Nova Scotia nearly four years ago, she spent her time as a landscape photographer, creating textile art, exhibiting her work, and teaching photography, as well as art and design to fiber artists. It took the pandemic and one beach to reignite a passion for adventure and her deep appreciation for nature. Delighted with the discovery of more than one beach, Anna set out exploring on a daily basis. Soon she shared her nature discoveries with newcomers and visitors alike. Her commitment to ensuring a safe outcome with every event led to Outdoor Council of Canada Field Leader Instructor and Advance Wilderness First Aid certifications. “Safety first” is a motto she observes with her tour groups and for herself. Backpacking trips during the shoulder seasons are her guilty pleasure. When she is not hiking, guiding tours, sharing her knowledge about the highest tides in the world, or snowshoeing, Anna can be found at home playing with fabric or yarn, or cuddling her four Shitzus.

Saying YES to Reclaiming Your Vision and Trusting Your Inner Compass with Sylvie Mazerolle

Have you ever found yourself following someone else’s rules, only to realize it just doesn’t feel right? In this episode, Wendy and her guest, Sylvie Mazarolle, dive deep into the journey of saying yes to yourself and embracing authenticity in both life and work. Sylvie shares her personal story of reclaiming her creative vision after a course left her feeling disconnected from her passion. By tweaking her approach to align with what truly excites her, she’s rediscovered her love for capturing the beauty of life in all its forms—people, places, and adventures—and the magic started flowing again as soon as she did. Wendy reflects on the lessons she learned from working with her coach, Gina DeVee, emphasizing the importance of trusting your own values instead of outsourcing your power. Together, they discuss the magic that happens when you release control, stay open to the unexpected, and rediscover what makes you feel truly alive. No matter what phase of life you’re navigating, this episode is a powerful reminder to say yes to what feels right for you and to live a life that makes you feel truly alive. Tune in and say yes to the life that’s waiting for you!

    About Sylvie:
Sylvie is a professional photographer with over 15 years experience as a visual artist. Eight of those years were spent as a professional makeup artist in Toronto’s film and fashion industry. Now based in Dieppe New-Brunswick Canada, you can find her behind the lens creating beautiful images for others to enjoy. In her photography, she focuses on using natural light as much as possible and trusting in not just what she sees, but how she sees it. She uses both her past experience in color theory and storytelling as well as her intuition. The results are rich, elegant images that evoke emotions. In addition to traveling, portraits, and food photography, she mentors others on how to unlock their own creativity. “ Photographs are the only thing capable of freezing the passing of time in today's fast-paced world. It’s a way to slow down and be present. When I am photographing just for me, it’s a form of self care and art therapy. It can be very meditative. There is beauty everywhere. Slow down and take a moment to appreciate it, taste it, and get to know it. Enjoy a Slice Of Life.”
