The lads continue with their player position previews in AFL Fantasy this week with the forward line. So far in 2025 there has been a general consensus that our forward lines will be vanilla, with Smith, Daniel, Macrae and Phillipou all having greater than 50% ownership so early in the pre-season. Where there has been discussion is around structure and whether or not we are paying up and trying to find value in an F1, or whether we are looking to find some other value picks or rookies.

Continuing The Holmes Files series, this week two-time top 10 finisher and runner up in 2021 Holmesy sits down with Moreira’s Magic AKA Selby the GOAT of AFL Fantasy. Selby has back to back top place finishes in AFL Fantasy in 2017 and 2018 as well as another top 100 finish in 2020. When it comes to chatting AFL Fantasy, no one is more credentialed than Selby is! Despite giving away Fantasy after 2020, Selby has since moved to SuperCoach where he has continued to shape the way the game is played, with his guide helping many coaches finish inside the top 10.

In this episode, Selby joins Holmesy for an intimate one on one interview to help set the scene for AFL Fantasy in 2025. Despite it still being early, they discuss all the learnings from the winner last year, who just happens to be Selby’s brother in law! After the chaos of round 8, round 9 treated coaches to a bit of normality as we saw some big scoring return to AFL Fantasy. Captains were back with ceiling scores from popular premiums such as Marshall, Daicos and Butters which saw many coaches pushing above 2200 and even further north! However, many issues are starting to appear with a change of role for Harry Sheezel, many of the popular rookie options starting to max out in price and our forward lines still looking like absolute chaos!!
