    The pod features an in depth interview with the outgoing president of the ISU, Jan Dijkma of the Netherlands, and press conference highlights from his successor, Jae Youl Kim of the Republic of Korea.

    The pod covers the decision to raise the minimum age for competitors in senior events from 15 to 17 to protect skaters "physical and mental health, and emotional well-being".

    Welcome to the latest episode of The Ice Skating Podcast. This episode is an emotional one, featuring an in depth interview with USA's figure skating sensation Vincent Zhou. 

    He opens up about his difficult Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, at which he tested positive for Covid-19 and had to withdraw from the Men's event. 

    After struggling mentally in the aftermath of Beijing, Zhou battled back to perform at the World Championships, placing third thanks to two brave skates. He tells us all about his extraordinary journey. 

    We've also got a review of the  ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships from Tallinn, featuring interviews with the winners from the Women's and Men's events, Isabeau Levito and Ilia Malinin.

     There is an exclusive interview with Ukrainian Short Track skater Mariya Dolgopolova, who reveals how she fled her home, under fire Kharkiv, at the start of the Russian invasion, and hopes to keep the Ukrainian flag flying through her sport over the next few weeks. 

    Finally, we are previewing the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Montreal, which start on April 8. We have an exclusive interview with Canadian star John Pierre-Gilles, fresh from winning a gold medal at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

    2022 is here and all eyes are turning towards China and the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. 

    We are looking forward to the Games with Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson, Great Britain's great new ice dance hope. They are highly excited about heading to their first Olympic Games – can they capture their country's imagination in the way Torvill and Dean once did? 

    Australia's Kailani Craine is heading to her second Games, after a fantastic experience at  PyeongChang 2018. The brilliant Aussie tells us all about how much she loves the Olympic experience, and her routines for the competition. 

    We are also reporting back from the 2022 European Speed Skating Championships in Heerenveen, Netherlands – an event with both prestigious medals and Olympic spots up for grabs. We speak to  Dutch legend Ireen Wust and Norway's Hallgeir Engebraten about their performances – and hopes for next month.
