I'm studying class-growth. Infinite-being-style class growth. There are a few steps when you want to suffer less. 1. Be willing for it to change no matter what. 2. Use the tools that melt the structures creating it. 3. Teach yourself to create from space. Are you running an internal race you can't explain? 😩 To be the best? To get there? To get it all right? To be perfect? To not let anyone get ahead of you? To never be wrong? But deep down - you feel less than? Not enough? Flawed? Lacking everything good? Today's key has me by the short and curly's. When I first read about No Competition, I ignored it completely. For five years, I knew it wasn't relevant for me. And then, I read it again. It was so my thing that I had discarded it. I'm getting more awareness all the time of what happened for me in the Latin part of the world. The moment I arrived and everything felt crazy. One of the keys to freedom? Don't compete. There is no one that you can actually compare yourself to, so - be yourself. Enjoy yourself. Receive others. Have allowance. All easy things to type. Living them? To not compete, you have to know that you have value. Know that you're a gift. If you don't? You'll -- need to be right all the time -- fight for your point of view -- compare yourself to everyone -- need to be the best and win at everything you do -- need to not lose -- leave the ring when others are around -- say things like, I could have done that, no problem -- feel depressed and not want to live (to remove yourself from the game) And a huge long list of other things. I have been competing for as long as I can remember. But in the last 3 years, it got exposed. And I raged. Brutal for everyone involved. Until I chose something else. Have you always wanted to change the world? 🤗 Me too. My mom bought that religion would get us there, and so we did that. Judgment soup. I absorbed and excelled. My mom was harsh. But also gentle. When she was gentle it was sunshine. When she was harsh it was, of course, my fault. With that as my childhood education, adulthood and relationships were confusing and hard. I tried to be nice. It didn't work. I tried to be good. It didn't seem to matter. I tried to understand. It failed. I tried to control with feelings. That flopped. I got icey. That created visible damage. My mom had shown me that if you have good judgment and judge hard enough, the other person caves. But no matter what I did, I couldn't be right enough or good enough or judge the other person enough into who I knew they could be. (This would make my life easier, right?) And my methods weren't things I was proud of, so after, I would always crash. Which is when I learned that if I would put that energy into myself, it would be different. I resisted this at first. How was changing me going to change them? (The only thing I thought mattered.) Ten years later, I'm only starting to get that changing me isn't even about them. And, it's not about changing me at all. It's about being me. Yes, when you become more of you, the people around you change. You're no longer trying to change them. Less fixed judgments, more space and possibility. Anything that can change in that environment, will. Anything that can't, won't. And you won't have to try to do anything. And that - changes the world. But, being you gives you the fortune of who you truly are. You get to have the richness of your own being. Is that worth anything? But I - was different. I cried when I fell because sweet lord - have you ever subluxated your kneecap? It is NOT nice. But inside I felt - peaceful. This peace has been very different from the last time my kneecap fell to the side. The first time was in Panama and I was drunk and in a huge reaction. I'd hit Andres with a pillow, mad as hell, and twisted my knee. And for the next year, my life was very different. We were living at the beach and I couldn't go anywhere. I couldn't work out and I couldn't be happy. I punished myself. Created my own personal little living hell. I made it very significant. I locked myself in a no-choice universe with everything. Not my proudest set of choices. Also, not my most profitable. It might have been more honest for us to come back to North America after the first month. I knew almost immediately that this wasn't going to work for me. But instead, I stayed in the structure of what we had chosen. If I could get my shit together, we could make this work. We stayed generally unhappy (with spurts of happiness) for almost 2 years. Great, eh? Today, I'm going live about form, structure and significance. I've made different choices since then. You have to ruminate on it and feel things about it, and ALL of that takes you out of choosing forward. (I'll talk about how I've been doing this!) The truth is: if you were choosing forward, you'd never think about any other choice. You'd be so engaged in the current one. This all comes from chapter 3 of the Ten Keys to Total Freedom. Today, I forced myself to read it with new eyes. I've been locking myself up for months now. I wanted to see if I could see how I've been doing it. And, what I could do to change it. I read, hungrily. And, after reading this morning, I wanted to have "infinite being". I committed to create that for myself. That was interesting. Because, it's what I want, not what others want. Because I do. Because I can. Because that's where ease lives, and where I get to be space and no-mind. I have wanted that for as long as I've existed. And, I was creating it for years. But last year, I stopped. I gave up on it because I couldn't see it being valuable to anyone else. After years of fighting for it, I sat down in the middle of the road and quit. I did what everyone else does and let other people's needs, requires and desires be at the forefront. Which I have to tell you - killed me. Which is why you and I are here, now.
