With the rise of the “homemaker revolution” on social media and the homemaking aesthetic of pretty dresses, beautiful kitchens, and freshly baked sourdough comes *lots* of different feelings - am I right? While it’s a beautiful thing to be inspired by so many amazing women who do a wonderful job of sharing their homemaking, it can also leave you wondering, am I doing this right? Am I really a homemaker if my reality doesn’t look like that.
Here’s the thing - I love the homemaker aesthetic. I think wearing dresses makes me more productive. I have tried and failed TWICE now to learn the art of sourdough (I’ll get it eventually!). I love that homemaking is making a comeback! But the truth is: the heart of homemaking is so much more than all of those things.
As I’ve fought comparison in my own homemaking journey, God has been so faithful to renew my mind and remind me of the true heart of homemaking. So in this episode, I’m sharing with you 4 simple truths about homemaking that God has been reminding me of in this season that I hope will encourage you in your own homemaking — whatever that may look like.

One of the things that freed me up the most in my motherhood journey was realizing that I don't always have to LIKE every single part of being a mom. I don’t have to like the 3 am wake up calls and poop accidents and toddler attitudes in order to do this job joyfully. If nobody’s ever told you that, let me be the first to fill you in on this secret - loving motherhood and doing it joyfully doesn’t mean you have to like every single part of it! Let’s just be real, nobody likes every single part of it. Today we’re answering the question, “how do i remain joyful even in the parts of motherhood i probably wont ever look back on and miss?” So let's dive in!

How can we see God even in the messy mundane moments of motherhood? The answer might be more simple than you think. See, it’s easy to feel far from God in this season of life – you’re busy, you’re tired, you hardly have a moment to yourself these days. But God’s Word promises us that if we seek Him, we will find Him. The more we look for Him, the more we’ll begin to see evidence of His goodness all over our lives. Yes, even in the chaos and the mess.

It’s back to school season! Today I wanted to take some time to talk about back to school and all that this season brings. In my own life, I’ve noticed that this time of year can easily become a time where comparison takes root if I’m not careful, and I’m guessing I'm not the only one. So today I want to give you some encouragement, some scripture to pray over yourself, and some practical things you can do if you find yourself falling into comparison this time of year.
