In 1981, after a successful freshman year at Syracuse University, Alice celebrated with a friend, before taking a dark walk back to her dorm. Along the way, someone was watching Alice, and then when no one was looking, the stranger violently attacked Alice. Alice documented her rape and the subsequent trial in her successful memoir titled, Lucky.
However, in 2023, the man that was convicted for Alice’s brutal attack was exonerated.
