Welcome to The PCOS Girls Podcast! We are Brigitte and Mel, two Australian women with PCOS..who can't stop talking about it. Join us as we over-share about our lives with PCOS, letting you in on how we have used natural medicine to improve our PCOS, overcome our fertility issues and become mums. All peppered with tonnes of research, facts and tips. Brigitte Warne is the founder of PCOS to Wellness and the creator of the hormone balancing Cysterhood Tea and Mamahood Tea. Melissa Christie is the founder of PCOS Pathways and the creator of The PCOS Journal, a health diary for women with PCOS.
Guys! This is the final episode of the season!! And we absolutely LOVED discussing the topics that came up in this episode.
The whole episode begins though with a massive catch up on Mel’s health journey this year. It’s been a wild one to say the least – so much progress…but at a bit of a price.
Mel’s been largely off social media for months and hasn’t shared this journey anywhere so if you’ve been wanting to hear what’s been going on – this is the ep for you.
There’s a huge content warning for this episode though because of the chat about Mel’s health – we discuss mental health, depression, weight loss and dieting. So if any of that is uncomfortable or if you just want to skip straight to the actual content of the ep – fast forward through to the 32 minute mark.
We’ve made this episode in the hopes that it will save you some time, money and energy not making the same mistakes we’ve made. And, to share the things that have really made a huge impact on our health journeys.
We hope you find it helpful!

This is an exciting ep for us to put out…but full warning…it also starts with a bit of a heavy catch up at the start.
We recorded it months ago and we did want to make a note now to say that Elma is ok! We’ve still got some possible procedures ahead but since this episode we have found out that whatever it is, it’s NOT cancerous.
So the relief is exploding over here. It was a rough few months.
But back to the topic at hand – this episode dives into some really simple and powerful hacks for working on weight management with PCOS.
We cover everything from lifestyle to supplements to self love and the things that have really helped us on our own journeys with this.
We hope it’s helpful.
And as much as we tried our very best to handle this complex topic with care and respect, we of course need to throw a trigger warning on it – if you’re not feeling like listening to content about weight loss right now, follow that instinct and give this ep a miss.

This episode is for anyone who’s a bit tired of constantly focusing on all the signs and symptoms of being unwell.
It’s so easy to get bogged down in that and it’s also really easy to be so laser focused on a particular health outcome that you completely miss the subtle little signs that you are actually making progress!
We loved pulling this episode together and chatting about all the little signs to celebrate.
And if you feel super far from healed, we hope this episode highlights some manageable little goals you might like to aim for.
Because yes, we all want the big things ticked, but the little things matter too and sometimes, they feel much more tangible and in reach.

If there’s one thing that has been the primary driver of both of our PCOS journeys – it’s been stress.
As business owners, mums and just women in the world – stress isn’t going away. But we have found ways to manage it and support our stress response from the inside out.
In this episode we look at the herbs, supplements and lifestyle practices that can help your body handles stress better and help your mind to be better prepped for stressful periods of life.
If you’re someone who has a high stress job or day to day life but feel like you ‘thrive under pressure’ – don’t ignore this ep. We relate to you so much because we have identified as that in the past too…but stress can be having more of an impact than you realise and you may really benefit from bringing in some support.

About 70-80% of people with PCOS have insulin resistance so this weeks deep dive is such an important one for so many of us.
In this episode we look at the herbs, supplements and lifestyle practices (and nutritional HACKS!) that can help balance your blood sugar and insulin.
If you have insulin resistance – addressing it is one of the most impactful things you can do for your PCOS. Insulin resistance increases our androgens, causing irregular cycles and all of our pcos symptoms PLUS can lead to more chronic health conditions like diabetes – so this isn’t one to gloss over – addressing it can really turn things around for you.

Ok, it's one of those episodes where we do all the research, we say it out loud and we go...oh man...sounds like me. Lol.
Nothing like a bit of self education, right?
If you haven't discovered the powerhouse that is zinc, this is the episode for you.
Zinc helps us in SO many ways and you may be surprised by the symptoms that show up when you're deficient.
