This week we have an interview with Mizzou’s beam queen Helen Hu, who is a fifth year senior and three-time All-American on beam. Helen retired after the 2023 season but returned to the sport after traveling abroad for a year and hasn’t missed a beat so far this season, scoring the first perfect 10 of the 2025 season and the first perfect 10 of her career last weekend against Oklahoma. We are so excited that we got the chance to talk with Helen about that moment as well as her decision to return to the sport. After the interview get into highlights and key moments from week 4 including No. 17 Arkansas upsetting No. 2 LSU, Florida scoring the first 198 score of the season and more!

For this special bonus episode we are joined by three members of the WCGA judging issues committee to learn more about the new pilot program that is being used to evaluate college gymnastics judges this season called Scoreboard.

This is a program that was created in 2023 by the WCGA Judging Issues Committee to help create a level-playing field of scores across the country, to strengthen integrity in the routine evaluation process, and to increase consistency in applications of deductions nationally. They also hope to provide policy and protocol for egregious scoring errors and provide a transparent, formalized postseason selection process through Scoreboard. 

To help break it all down are three members of the WCGA Judging Issues committee:

• Bev Plocki is the co-chair of the committee and the head coach at the University of Michigan, where she’s been for 36 years. 

• Kasey Crawford who is also co-chair of the committee and the head coach at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse, where she has been for 9 years. She is also a certified USAG Level 10 judge.

• Amy Blee who is a committee member, assistant coach at Hamline University, and a former NCAA gymnastics judge. 

We’re back to discuss the news and latest happenings from Week 3 of the 2025 NCAA gymnastics season. We discuss: Rutgers head coach Umme Salim-Beasley being placed on administrative leave, the first perfect 10s of the season, Erin Roe from Ursinus making history on vault, Michigan State competing in the Breslin Center for the first time against Big Ten rival Michigan and more highlights from the weekend!

Today we’re excited to be sitting down with KJ Kindler, the head coach of the 6-time NCAA Champion Oklahoma Sooners. Despite last season not ending how the Sooners wanted it to, the 2024 season was one for the history books. Oklahoma was the #1 team all season long and won its 14th and final Big 12 Championship with not only a program record score, but an NCAA team record of 198.950. KJ joins us to talk about how the team handled the heartbreak of not advancing to the NCAA finals last year, the team not being afraid to set big goals that might seem impossible, she also introduces her stellar freshmen class and gives a few updates on athlete injuries and who to watch this season.

The Razorbacks are coming off an historic season that included breaking the team program record three times, getting the programs first 198 score, and qualifying to the NCAA Championships, where they had their highest finish as a team since 2012.
