Tara Jean Stevens grew up in a bizarre spiritual movement, in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Worshipers were shaking wildly and falling to the ground. There were claims of supernatural-healings and gold teeth miraculously appearing in people’s mouths. As a teen, Tara Jean was an on-fire Christian who spoke in tongues and took everything she was taught in church to heart. But now, years later, she has a lot of questions (and curiosity) about her religious upbringing and personal spiritual experiences. Join her, as she helps others navigate their own faith journeys. This investigative series explores the world of Pentecostal and charismatic Christians, one season at a time. In season one, Tara Jean seeks to understand the “Toronto Blessing”, the movement she was raised in. In season 2, she examines the questionable teachings & spectacular spiritual practices of Bethel Church, in Redding, California. And, in season 3, Tara Jean follows the Pentecostal spirit of revival to Nashville, Tennessee, where a once thriving church is up in flames and a mutilated body is found inside. Season 4 coming Fall 2023.
