Life After Trek is a podcast series featuring Star Trek cast & crew interviews. Listen in to hear from your favorite Trek stars & former crew members from many of the various Star Trek series. We focus on the cast & crew current projects, upcoming conventions, and intimate discussions about their time on Star Trek.
We’re pleased to announce the 25th episode of our “Life After Trek” podcast. In this episode we're featuring an interview with "Star Trek Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library" Author Larry Nemecek. Larry's new book is available for pre-order from Amazon and will be available for sale December 3rd at bookstores everywhere.
Of course many of you out there know Larry from his many other works including "Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion", The Con of Wrath, hundreds of Trek interviews featured in Trekland on Speaker, his personal site Treklandblog.com, numerous convention appearances, and pretty much every aspect of Star Trek from TNG onward.
2013 has proven to be an extraordinary year for Larry. Not only has he been writing another great technical Trek book, he's also starred as Dr. Leonard McCoy in Star Trek Continues, shot tons of footage for The Con of Wrath, and started his brand new venture The Trekland Trunk.
Star Trek Continues is one of the best fan series we've seen and not only includes Larry as Bones, but also features Vic Mignogna as Captain James T. Kirk, and Chris Doohan reprising his father's role as Scotty. In fact, Star Trek Continues will resume filming its second episode shortly and is looking for help to continue the saga via Kickstarter.
Ever want to get your hands on truly unique Trek collectibles? Then check out The Trekland Trunk. Larry has digitized much of his Trek collection from years past and is looking for good homes for these collected gems. You can "like" the page to stay informed of when some of his Trek memorabilia will be available for auction.
Be sure to check out Larry's home page Treklandblog.com for all things Trekland and pre-order his brand new book Star Trek Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library from Amazon.
We’re pleased to announce episode 22 of our “Life After Trek” podcast, featuring Robert O'Reilly & J.G. Hertzler. Many of you know them as Chancellor Gowron and General / Chancellor Martok. We would like to give a special thanks to the fine folks at Starbase Indy for hooking us up with this fantastic interview. If you're in the Indianapolis are, be sure to stop by this coming weekend (November 23-25, 2012) and enjoy this fantastic fan run con. Both Bob & J.G. will be on hand in full klingon regalia for a special panel, plus other (non-forhead ridged) events for the full run of the convention.
Just to be a bit transparent, we had some technical difficulties in the recording of this episode. So, some of the interview will seem a bit disjointed and spliced together. Both J.G. & Bob were fantastic and gracious in re-recording a few parts that were lost.
During the interview, we talk about their respective times in Trek-dom as well as other projects that the duo have worked on. If you're fans of Klingons (like we are), be sure to download this episode.
We’re pleased to announce episode 21 of our “Life After Trek” podcast, featuring Paul McGillion. Many of you know Paul from his work on Stargate: Atlantis as character Carson Beckett, but did you know that he also had a cameo in J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek and was even considered for the character of Scotty?...but I’m getting ahead of the game here. Being huge fans of Paul from his time on Atlantis and A Dog’s Breakfast (just to name a few), we were thrilled to chat with him to find out what he’s been up to lately.
It turns out you’ll be seeing a lot of him in the near future. Without giving the whole interview away, you can find him on an upcoming episode of Fringe currently scheduled to run on October 12th, and in person at Wizard World’s Austin Comic Con October 26, 27, & 28, 2012.
We cover a ton of topics in this, fast paced, 25 minute interview and we’re sure you’ll have a blast as you get to know Paul.
Be sure to check out his official website PaulMcGillion.com, learn more about him on IMDB.com/ and follow him on Twitter @PaulyMcGillion.
We’re pleased to announce episode 18 of our “Life After Trek” podcast, the "R U R" Special, featuring Chase Masterson & James Kerwin. Chase & James sit down with us to talk about their new film project R.U.R. & the crowd sourced "spin-off" short R.U.R.: Genesis. A play written by Karel Capek in 1919 -- and decades ahead of its time -- R.U.R. is a sharp commentary on progress, politics, and relationships, accurately predicting advances in biotechnology and setting the tone for future science fiction masterpieces like Metropolis and Blade Runner. In this retro-futuristic adaptation of the classic play (co-written & directed by James & starring Chase) R.U.R. depicts a world populated by genetically engineered workers ("artificials") — perfect, made-to-order humans who lack fundamental rights. We've loved Yesterday Was a Lie and are really looking forward to the release of this project.
In the meantime, R.U.R: Genesis is a "spin-off" short film that Chase & James are on the cusp of making and need your help to complete. Much like many other indie productions, Genesis is looking for funding from the fan community. There are several contribution levels, including one that guarentees you a walk on role. On top of that, your donations are tax deductable. If you would like to help this production get off the ground, you can contribute on the R.U.R. Indiegogo page here.
We’re pleased to announce episode 17 of our “Life After Trek” podcast, featuring Armin Shimerman. We've been looking forward to talking to Armin since we launched Life After Trek. He was a fantastic interview and a true class act. In this episode we talk in great detail about Armin's start in Hollywood, the stage, and dive deep into his past, present, and future work. For those of you who haven't heard, Armin is also an author. Penning not only a Deep Space Nine novel about his loveable Ferengi alter ego (The 34th Rule, available in ebook & paperback), but also a science fiction series called "The Merchant Prince" (available here). Armin is also working on a new film called the The Sublime and Beautiful, which we talked about last year, and is set to start filming this month.
Also look for Armin in Melbourne Australia, June 30th through July 1st, at the OZ Comic Con as well as Creation Entertainment's Star Trek Convention Las Vegas August 9th through the 12th. If you're an Aussie Trek fan, be sure to make the trip to Melbourne. Not only will Armin be a guest, but Patrick Stewart, Life After Trek alumni Jeffrey Combs, and Daniel Stewart will be in attendance. We would like to thank Armin for setting aside time to chat with us. Like I said before, he was an absolute pleasure and we know that you fans out there are really going to enjoy this episode.
We’re pleased to announce episode 16 of our “Life After Trek” podcast, this time featuring Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry. As you may know, Rod is the son Gene & Majel Roddenberry as well as the CEO of Roddenberry Productions. We got the chance to speak to Rod via phone interview to talk about his upcoming documentary Trek Nation (premiering Novmber 30th on Science) plus his work with Roddenberry Productions, The Roddenberry Foundation, & The Roddenberry Dive Team. Oh, and of course Star Trek. We had a blast recording this interview and Rod was a very gracious guest. To learn more about all things Roddenberry head over to their official website Roddenberry.com.

We’re pleased to announce the fourteenth episode of our “Life After Trek” podcast.
