Justin and Anastasia talk about the weekly picks over at /r/HorrorClub. Join us... gooble gobble ONE OF US!
Before we dive into the episode, have you seen our badass logo? Awesome designer Trais Colton Barhaug rocked that for us and you should go support him now! T-shirts, pins, and stickers are on their way.
Thanks to Justin’s long time friend, Kwalified, a diehard wrestling fan and dope emcee hailing from Hawaii, for our great intro song.
We finally got to Stone Cold on this podcast… but we actually did so back in August. Life got the better of Justin and podcasts a’plenty didn’t get finished of posted(stay tuned for another drop tomorrow on The Farchive feed). So, while The Condemned is not a horror film, it’s scary how long it took Justin to finally post this shit!
Don’t worry, though, we have stuff in the works for the next few months and some changes in the format so that when Justin inevitably runs behind the convo isn’t about non-current “current events”.
For now, enjot some awesome matches and a fun film starring Steve Austin.
Doug is back on Twitter and his other podcasts never left, Cinema Smorgasbord and No-Budget Nightmares

We unexpectedly took the Summer off, so in case you need a reminder – this is the podcast where we ask the important questions…
Is Nicolas Cage a legitimate acting genius?
An utter piece of silver screen trash?
Or somewhere in between?
On this episode, we celebrate spooky season with our Halloween episode on the latest creeptastic Cage gem, Longlegs. Justin’s spooky wife Brooke – aka Rockstar Roller Derby’s “People’s Captain” Clown Baby – joins the fray as we seemingly gush over one of the year’s best films. The spookiest thing… even Merder likes it. Listen in to find out just how much she likes it and if she’s even able to admit that Nic is “good” in the role!
SPECIAL THANKS to The O’Mulligans (now known as Chonker) for allowing us to use their fantastic track “Cage Rage” as our official theme song! Listen to Chonker on Bandcamp and support the band!

Coming soon, the newest addition to The Farsighted Network, CAGEMATCH – the monthly podcast where we ask the important questions:

Logan Marshall-Green just released his feature length debut as a director and Justin was lucky enough to grab a quick chat with him. Check out this bonus pod to hear their discussion and then stick around to hear a promo for Dino and Michele’s Huuuh?Podcast – a podcast about film, family, and whatever else they feel like talking about… here on The Farsighted Network.
Starting last month, we’re dropping small episodes and bonuses across the whole network to give fans of our podcasts a taste of our other shows. In our first such bonus, we’ve got a little taste of the Grindhouse Messiah for everyone to check out.
2019 has been a killer year for director Jesse V. Johnson, who has twin action gems out right now in Triple Threat and Avengement. On this bonus podcast, Justin chats with Jesse about Avengement and as many other topics as he could in their limited time together. The conversation is included raw and unedited. Forgive any overtalk, as a slight delay caused Justin to feel like a dick for talking over Jesse at least a few times.
After this chat, listen to a segment of last year’s episode with Ed Travis, founder and editor of Cinapse. In this segment, Ed joins Blaine and Justin to chat about Jesse’s 2018 action flick, The Debt Collector.
Avengement is out now, so after you listen, make sure to check it out!
Thanks for listening and if you’re new to Grindhouse Messiah and want to hear more, you can check the podcast’s main page over at The Farsighted or subscribe via Spotify, iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or a variety of other services!

Dino and Michelle sat down with Director Tommy Stovall to talk about his upcoming suspense thriller Room for Rent starring genre’s favorite septuagenarian Lin Shaye. Coming out this May on disc and streaming, it’s a great little horror film that our very own Kenny did a short review of earlier this month.
If you’d prefer to listen to this interview via YouTube, Dino uploaded it over there, as well.

A few minute update from Cash and Justin about the shows on The Farsighted Network. It’s short, so give it a quick listen… but the gist is that we’re taking the Summer off. We’ll likely post some minisodes and music mixes, but the official podcasts will be back at the beginning of next school year.
Drive All Night will return with a great interview with Tony Rettman of Green Room Radio (and like 300 other awesome projects).
The Farsighted will return with Haydn Shaw, author of a couple of great books about American generations.
FarOut KidsCast will finally officially debut with a multi-faceted episode featuring Luke Eccles of Awaking Mercury, Liz DeRoche of The Singing Lizard, and Cash’s Summer recap.
Unfortunately, Reddit Horror Club 2: Dead by Dawn is on an indefinite hiatus. But we’d love you to come talk horror movies with the club at /r/HorrorClub.
In the meantime, go support Cinepunx, the podcasts of Doug Tilley, I Like 2 Movie Movie, Priest Pulse, or tell us what podcast we should be checking out!
In this week’s episode of Reddit Horror Club, Justin and Ana rap about Ana’s pick, the classic psychological thriller Don’t Look Now. The two have similar views on the film and (SPOILER ALERT) neither of them believe even a bit that the infamous sex scene was simulated.
Ana plugs a really awesome upcoming piece. Read about her friend’s fight against a despicable injustice here.
In an interesting discussion, Ana explains some of her thoughts on why Ti West may have been pretty irresponsible in some of the decisions he made in the script and direction of The Sacrament. Justin discusses his fascination with cults and the reality of brainwashing among different groups. And the two decide whether to stash or trash the 2013 film.
In addition to the film, Justin plugs an amazing event he went to at the PhilaMOCA. The event featured a screening and Q&A of Sympathy for the Devil, one of the best documentaries on a cult group in the past several years. The Process Church of the Final Judgment was a big influence on Funkadelic in their early days, so you get to hear the podcast close out with an obscure and weird track that was featured prominently in the film.
Please join us over at the subreddit to chat about this film! We’re always looking for fresh takes on the movies we choose and discuss.
Second week in a row without a regular Reddit Horror Club podcast, sorry folks. However, Ana really wanted to talk a bit about last week’s film before she headed out for a little vacation and Royal wanted to talk about this week’s pick, so we put together an episode which was kinda two minisodes together.
So here’s the breakdown… the Race with the Devil trailer, the mini episode discussing Race with the Devil, a brief note, the All the Colors of the Dark trailer, and Royal (aka redditor royal_b) giving us some thoughts on his selection.
We’ll be back to normal (well, normal for us) next week. Hope you enjoy this slightly different type of episode.
…in which Justin admits that he only likes Sheri Moon Zombie because she’s hot and Ana shares her thoughts on Sheri’s husband’s films. The two of them agree that the least sexy scene featuring a sea of breasts is in The Lords of Salem, but do they agree on whether to stash or trash the film?
And, there’s a BIG cliffhanger on this episode because Ana has something to share with us all… but apparently not yet… she’s going to make us wait.
For now, join in on the podcast and, more importantly, join us over at /r/HorrorClub to discuss Don‘s pick for our cults and the occult themed round of horror flicks.
And join us next week for Race with the Devil, the 1975 action horror classic.
