The DarkHorse Podcast is hosted by Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying. Bret and Heather both have PhDs in biology, and they seek truth and explore a wide variety of topics with their evolutionary toolkit as society loses its footing. Tune in to infamous spreaders of "Covid Disinformation" Bret and Heather for a podcast—maybe you'll like what you see!
In this week’s episode, we continue our discussion of the Los Angeles Fires, sharing stories, analysis, and an apology from the owner of the LA Times, a publication which endorsed Karen Bass, LA’s current mayor. Even if diversity and inclusion have value, we need skill and experience more. Then: a new molecular technique reveals the extent to which mRNA shots move around the body and trigger the immune system to destroy transfected cells; this provides strong support for Bret’s years-old hypothesis that myocarditis and pericarditis are the result of T cell mediated destruction of cardiomyocytes. Finally: dung beetles, in life and in art. Who makes dung balls, who rolls dung balls, and why is it such a popular activity?

In this week’s episode, we discuss the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles, which has destroyed the neighborhood where Heather grew up. Why does California burn, how are fires different now than they used to be, what happens now? We discuss the Getty Villa and Palisades Village, and why we should care what happens to a wealthy neighborhood in West LA. Also: did the LA Fire Chief drinking the DEI Kool-Aid contribute to the devastation? And when are natural disasters not entirely natural? Then: Zuckerberg announces changes to fact-checking, filters, and trust and safety teams at Meta. It’s not an apology. Are the changes politically motivated, or market-driven, or philosophical, and will they stick? At the same time, Musk announces plans for algorithmic deboosting on X. Zero is a special number.

In this week’s episode, we review the past year on DarkHorse, recalling stories about Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (the former president of Harvard, Boeing, Kamala Harris, Secret Service, tortillas); food (seed oils, tallow, and types of fat; the food compass; microbeef sushi; the perfect potato); pharma (vaccines and the CDC, Ozempic, Bovear, sunscreen); the Earth’s magnetic field and pole shifts; the WHO; the need for natural history museums; gender ideology (WPATH, pup handlers, the Olympics, Imane Khelif); immigration and the southern border; Julian Assange’s release; the First Amendment and the Supreme Court; the election, Rescue the Republic, and Unity; and some cool biology (octopi have old sex chromosomes; fish with “legs” that can taste; an orangutan who heals wounds with leaves; and frogs in saunas). Then: predictable fissures are arising in the MAGA – MAHA – Unity coalition. How should we think about them, and how can we protect MAHA from a battle between food and pharma? Proposal: Informed Consent and Liability.

Bret Weinstein speaks with Senator Ron Johnson on the subject of corruption present in COVID policies and American politics in general. They question who the “puppet masters” are and review what RFK Jr.’s stance on vaccines could bring to the upcoming administration. Finally, Bret and Senator Johnson, notorious COVID dissidents, end their discussion by considering the possibility of Fauci receiving a pardon.

In this week’s episode, we discuss the World Health Organization, Greenland, Panama, and how Trump plans to interact with all of the above. Is it moral to ask for, buy, or take, other people’s land? We need to remember the Monroe Doctrine. Also: the Southern Poverty Law Center puts out an annual hate map, in which they showcase hate groups like “anti-government groups” that promote “conspiratorial and dubious views of government…as evidenced by the movement’s popular rhetoric on such issues as COVID-19 regulation.” Also on the SPLC’s hate list: people who don’t think that drag queen story hours promote literacy. While claiming to challenge “binary gender roles,” trans ideology actually does the opposite. Finally: eight insights for Hannukah.

In this 256th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.
In this week’s episode, we discuss resistance to Make America Healthy Again, and how beliefs that were once unspeakable become speakable. It used to be impossible to speak about the risks of fluoride in the water; now it’s not. It used to be impossible to question the safety of Mercury in vaccines; now it’s not. How safe is Aluminum as an adjuvant in vaccines? Goliath assures us it’s safe; we look at the research that has been done, and find otherwise. We are betting our lives, and our children’s lives, on four rabbits and a dude.
We also discuss the polio vaccine, and GLP-1 RAs, more familiarly known as Ozempic and its chemical kin. Similar to the mRNA shots for Covid (wherein Uracil was replaced with Pseudouridine), GLP-1RAs are similar but not identical to a naturally occurring human hormone, but have been altered to be more “stable” and last longer in the body.

In this 255th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.
In this week’s episode, we discuss how to avoid confusion between moral and analytical differences, especially when it comes to politics and the state of America. Probably you have people in your life whom you love, with whom you disagree adamantly about politics. If you believe those people to share your values, then you probably just disagree about what you have seen, and what it means—rather than believing that they are fundamentally bad people. Also: is it unethical to spend time and resources investigating scientific questions that have already been answered? And: excess deaths in the time of Covid, the pull-forward effect, and an analogy with treefalls during early Winter storms: strong winds cull the weak, such that in subsequent storms, there should be fewer trees that fall. Also: check out Obvious State—they make amazing art prints.

In this 254th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.
In this week’s episode, we discuss science, scientists, and the mainstream media. How can the New York Times and The Atlantic simultaneously be so opposed to Kennedy, and so in favor of the industrial sludge being promoted by Big Pharma and Big Food? A new research result finds that women who move for a few seconds every day are less likely to have heart attacks than women who move for no seconds at all. Our standards have sunk very, very low. Science Magazine tells us that American science needs a new vision, but doesn’t tell us what that vision should be. And we discuss why not knowing an answer, and using observation and inference to try to deduce it, is a better route to knowledge and autonomy than is looking up the answer right away.

In this 253rd in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.
In this week’s episode, we follow the science to fewer cow farts. Bovear, an FDA approved product that is fed to cattle to reduce their production of methane, is the result of yet more reductionist, metric-heavy research that conflates complex systems with complicated ones. Bill Gates approves, though, so what could go wrong? We discuss ruminant biology, the actual Carbon impact of grazing cattle, and some other great new products from the makers of Bovear, including “the world’s first-ever flavor created by artificial intelligence.” Then: why is the BBC’s disinformation wing concerned about what Bret said on Diary of a CEO? What happened to journalism? Finally: it’s Thanksgiving tomorrow. Liberals are supposed to be high in openness—consider being open to the differing views of your friends and family, and have a wonderful time together.

In this 252nd in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.
In this week’s episode, we start with corrections from last livestream, and a bit more about seed oils. Then: dry fasting. What are the cultural and biological precedents for abstaining from all food and drink for hours or days at a time? What religious traditions include dry fasting? Are their health benefits? What are autophagy, and metabolic water, and what do kangaroo rats and camels have to teach us? We tell our personal story of just having done a seven day dry fast, and remind Americans that, as a country, we just voted to Make America Healthy Again. Your health is in your hands, not those of the “experts.”
