In a single day, Appalachia's peacekeepers and independent forces have fallen. The Five-0 New Responders HQ is in ruins, the radio station is empty, mindlessly looping songs and the Overseer is missing. ZAX has been destroyed, but not before alerting the Enclave that things are far from under control in Appalachia. I wanted to give everyone a positive update on our life situation. As many of you longtime listeners know, our financial situation these past several years has not been great. Like many of you, we have been no strangers to struggle, living paycheck to paycheck and I’ve been working 7 days a week trying to keep us afloat, crushed by debt that began with long term mental healthcare for my husband Travis for a debilitating condition called C-PTSD and co-occurring conditions. So many of you have reached out, no strangers to either suffering through no fault of your own with mental health or who serve as caregivers for someone does. Everyone’s support over the years has meant the world to us and finally we have hope. Next month we finish a cross country move after finally selling our house, eliminating our debt completely and putting us in a much better living situation. We’ll be living in Texas, and after just getting back from there after signing on a new house for us I do have to say I have never eaten so well.

Once this move is completed by July 16th, I’ll be free both mentally and financially to be far more consistent with writing and editing. More of my free time spent in panic mode drumming up work will be mine again, and I can’t wait to get back to telling stories in Fallout 76 and beyond. So don’t worry…I’m not stopping.

I also want to share something exciting: I’ll be at QuakeCon in August, from the 8th to the 11th in Grapevine Texas and I would love to see any of you who may be going. It’s a truly spectacular event, panels, a truly epic LAN party in the BYOC. Though the convention may have started being all about Quake, today it is the largest yearly convention run by ZeniMax Media, and a celebration of all its studios and games. If you’re nearby or are planning to attend, it’s well worth a visit, and even if you can’t, Bethesda usually has a series of live streams from the event at Twitch.TV/Bethesda. Tickets start at just $16.50 for a day pass or if you want to bring your own computer and grab a spot in the LAN BYOC, you can grab those tickets for $75.

Again, I really miss you…I miss this. I’m so excited and frankly relieved for the next chapter in our personal life, but also the brighter horizons of my creative one. Care for yourself, take time to get out and see the world this summer. Unplugging for a while is chicken soup for the soul, it broadens the mind, declutters our thinking and allows less of the shadows to gain purchase.

I’ll be back in a few months, but I hope to see you in the Wasteland.

When last we left our intrepid Pioneer Scout Leaders Brian and MaryAnne they defeated Blackskull and said goodbye to Briognak the Barbarian forever. It will still be some time before they will be kidnapped and brainwashed in Sanctuary Acres, but we journey back for something pivotal in their relationship that will change things forever. We are still working on part 2 of Little Sanctuary of Horrors! Rushing to get it done. Had some issues with work and home the past few days that derailed things. Working this afternoon and evening on finishing touches.

We DID create a piece of bonus content I want to give to you all! Richard Loftus, our new editor and producer who will be helping me get things done faster, created a series of Halloween soundscapes. Growing up I have memories of that ratty old orange cassette tape blasting out our windows for trick or treaters, so I had an idea for us to create the first Fallout 76 trick or treating soundscapes to bring the horrors of Appalachia to your street and home. I'm incredibly proud of what he's created and as you'll hear, he is incredibly skilled at telling stories with audio.
