Punjab and Panthic politics are currently in such a critical state that if steps are not taken towards its revival, then this politics may reach the brink of extinction. The decline of Akali politics in Punjab is a matter of concern for the Sikhs. In order to revive Sikh politics and Punjab politics, Misal Sutlej called a gathering of Panthic scholars and leaders concerned for Punjab in Chandigarh Kissan Bhawan in which Sr. Gurpreet Singh expressed his views on the current decline in Sikh political influence. He attributed the trend to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Badal’s preference for personal interests over Sikh issues. He referred to the repeated betrayals by the SAD Badal’s party and asked them to chalk out a future strategy which could ensure the welfare of The Sikhs, Punjab and the Panth. After the Shahadat of the Ninth Guru Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji at Chandni Chowk in Delhi, Guru Sahib Ji’s pious Sish was brought to Sri Anandpur Sahib by Bhai Jaita Ji. Today, where Gurudwara Sishganj Sahib is decorated, the Tenth Guru performed the cremation of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib and built Gurdwara Sishganj Sahib in memory of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib . Guru Sahib took over the service of this place. Due to the neglect of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, the building of the Gurdwara Sahib is being changed in the name of beautification, which is another step towards the gradual destruction of Sikh historical buildings. When the Sikh Sangat came to know about this, they objected to it and warned the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee that it would not be good for them if any other Sikh historical building was demolished or altered without the Sangat’s permission. . He had to stop his work in front of the anger of the Sikh Sangat. In this regard, a gathering was held by the Sikhs and their views were presented, on this issue Journalist Mandeep Singh had a brief conversation with Dr. Sewak Singh.
