Discussing topics in Android every week.
This is the last episode of the second season of the Android Authority podcast. That sucks. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have tech to talk about. Adam, Joe, and Jonathan gather for one last time to talk about Motorola’s upcoming flagship, and care for your RAZR. LG is keeping the headphone jack flame a’burnin. And finally, we look back on some other operating systems that have come and gone over the years. RIP webOS, RIP Windows Phone, RIP #AAPodcast

We have a ton of housecleaning to take care of right off the bat including the Moto RAZR, Whatsapp’s dark mode, MWC 2020 and more. Plus, we take a look at LG’s implementation of Android 10 on the LG V50 with dual screen. Speaking of dual screens, Microsoft has some thoughts on how to implement dual screens. Google is experimenting with ways to help you use your phone less, and one of our editors wants you to update apps less often. What’s up with that?

Fresh off the CES Train, we have some housecleaning to do. We chat about the Escobar Fold, Google hitting a trillion dollar valuation, and in what ways iOS is better than our favorite OS (spoiler alert: not a lot of ways). Our main story is the rumored specifications of the Galaxy S20, especially the S20 Ultra, and it’s 120sorta-Hz screen. We take a deeper look at Bluetooth Audio LE and the LC3 codec along with Bluetooth SIG, and Huawei’s Google loophole is just delightful.

Every year, Android Authority looks to award the best smartphone released. But if you ask 50 different reviewers what the best phone of the year is, you’ll get 30 different ideas. But if you look at just the objective numbers, only one stands above the rest. It’s a very narrow field, but there is one clear winner, and we’re looking to crown that winner.
Chris Thomas, executive editor of SoundGuys, and chief product tester joins us to discuss our various categories, how they were tested, which phone won those categories, and finally, which phone won over all.

OnePlus has a concept phone coming to CES and Samsung has a Star Wars phone out now. The Snapdragon 865 finally beat its Apple counterpart - kinda. The New York Times investigated the location data obtained from a data mining company and it’s scary AF. Ring security is basically non-existent, and Google wants to climb into bed with them. And finally a smartphone is doing zoom right.
