Today, she leads Alexandrea’s Simple Pursuit, a wellness brand focused on simplifying holistic health. She is also the creator of the Pursuit of Health documentary series, a media project in progress where she explores essential themes in wellness, including the benefits of nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and other perspectives.

     

    On this episode we talk about her diagnosis of ulcerativecolitis; her journey with the condition and how she healed herself, as well as what holistic health means and how we can use it in our approach to our own personal health and wellness journey. We talk about simple and effective ways to improve gut health and digestive health, easy practices we can implement into our life that will make a difference in our overall health, some of her favourite brands and products and why, testing and lab work we should consider, and so much more.

Feeling failed by conventional doctors and medicine, Kathryn embarked on her own holistic healing journey after bouts with skin cancer, chronic hip pain, amenhorrea, hormone balances and botox complications. After a decade long journey of holistic skin healing, she created her Rooted and Radical Radiance guides, and became certified in nutrition, face taping, face cupping, toxicology and is currently in the midst of her function aesthetic practitioner certification. She now finds the greatest joy and honor in lighting the path for others!

    Episode #256: This week on Balance Your Life podcast I am joined by Dr. Julie Siemers. Julie DNP, MSN, RN, is a patient safety consultant, industry nurse leader, and educator. She is also the founder of Lifebeat Solutions and the author of the bestselling book ‘Surviving Your Hospital Stay: A NurseEducator's Guide to Staying Safe and Living to Tell About It.’ She spent 15 years in nursing education, serving in roles ranging from Professor to Dean, and as Executive Director at a large nursing university in California. She has a rich background in direct patient care, with experience in various roles on the medical/surgical care floor, in the Intensive Care Unit, the emergency department, and the trauma resuscitation department at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. Additionally, she served as a flight nurse on a trauma helicopter for 10 years. Since 2009, Dr. Julies has been educating students, colleagues, and the broader medical community on the vital skills needed to recognize patient deterioration and ensure safe nursing practices. Now, as a patient safety expert and the founder of Lifebeat Solutions, she is on a mission to make healthcare safer for everyone.
