Episode 54: Fastigial Nucleus and Trunk Position

In this episode of Talk Neuro to Me, we release from the Carrick Institute vault Prof. Carrickā€™s discussion on the Fastigial Nucleus and trunk position. Prof. Carrick describes the dominance of trunk position over head position in vestibular processing of the cerebellum.

Humankind must be able to activate different groups of muscles even with the same head position and vestibular activation. Trunk proprioceptors have vestibular targets in the Fastigial nucleus and promote this functionality that allows us to support posture and locomotion.
