The Muve Forward Podcast is all about living life to the fullest and making the intentional choice to move past trauma. Michelle is a registered massage therapist and a whole food lover with farm roots. It’s important to slow down, take time for healing nourishment, and shine a positive light.
The holidays can be a beautiful time of year, but for many of us, it also brings added stress—family gatherings, endless to-do lists, financial pressures, and an overwhelming abundance of food. If you’ve ever found yourself turning to emotional eating, feeling guilty afterward, or punishing yourself with restrictive habits or excessive workouts, know that you are not alone.
On this week’s podcast, I’m joined by Amber Romaniuk, an Emotional Eating, Digestive, and Hormone Expert, to dive into the root causes of binge eating and toxic habits—and how to replace them with self-love, body confidence, and healing.
Amber’s story is powerful: after gaining and losing more than 1,000 pounds and spending over $50,000 on binge foods, she reached a turning point. By addressing her limiting beliefs, emotional triggers, and patterns that kept her stuck, Amber found freedom—what she now calls Body Freedom™.

Life doesn’t always move in a straight line. Sometimes, we find ourselves in the messy middle—navigating change, uncertainty, and the in-between spaces where we’re not quite where we were, but not yet where we want to be.
In this episode of Muve Forward, I open up about my own life transition. I’ve faced big shifts recently—losing a steady job, building my activewear brand Muve Life, and trying to grow this podcast into something impactful. Some days, the weight of it feels overwhelming, but I’ve realized something powerful: it’s okay to not have it all figured out.
Here’s what I shared in this episode:
1. Acknowledge Where You Are
It’s easy to look at other people’s highlight reels and feel behind. But life isn’t a race. If you’re in a transitional phase, take a moment to honor it. Growth doesn’t always feel comfortable—it feels messy, uncertain, and sometimes exhausting. But this is where transformation happens.
Ask yourself: What small step can I take today? Forward movement, even when it’s slow, still counts.
2. Find Your Support Systems
When I felt stuck, I turned to tools and people who could help. I started leaning into resources like ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas and organize my thoughts, and I worked with a trauma therapist to explore the emotional blocks holding me back.
Sometimes, help comes in unexpected ways—friends, family, mentors, or even technology. The key is realizing that you don’t have to figure everything out alone. Reaching out for support doesn’t make you weak; it’s what allows you to move forward.
3. Focus on Staying Motivated
Motivation isn’t something you “find” once and hold onto forever—it’s something you build through small, intentional steps. For me, this looks like:
If you’re in the middle of a transition right now, know this: you’re not alone. Progress doesn’t have to be perfect; it just has to be forward.
At the beginning of the episode, I also shared a little about my brand, Muve Life. If you’re looking for clothing that inspires you to move—physically, mentally, and emotionally—check us out. Movement isn’t just about fitness; it’s about showing up for yourself every day, and I want to help you do that in clothing that feels as good as it looks.

Do you ever feel like you’re holding yourself back? Like you’re living a version of your life that’s smaller than what you’re capable of? If so, you’re not alone. So many of us fall into the trap of “playing it safe,” thinking it’s easier or less stressful. But is it really?
Here’s the truth: staying small might feel comfortable, but it’s not fulfilling. It’s not fun. And it’s definitely not the way to create a life you’re excited about.
So how do we stop settling? It starts with asking the right questions:
When you start answering these questions honestly, you begin to see where you’ve been holding yourself back—and where you can start stepping forward.
It doesn’t have to be a giant leap. Progress happens one step at a time. The key is to start, even if it feels uncomfortable. Because the discomfort of growth is so much better than the discomfort of regret.
So ask yourself: What if I stopped playing small? What would my life look like if I fully went for it?
Ready to find out? Let’s go.
What does it mean to be truly authentic? How do we navigate the pressures and expectations of society, family, and social media to live a life that reflects our true selves? In this episode, we discuss why authenticity matters, how to recognize the signs of misalignment in your life, and practical ways to step into a more genuine, fulfilling way of being. Join us as we explore the journey of self-discovery and the power of living a life that’s aligned with who you truly are.

Life has its seasons, and lately, I've been going through one of change and transition. It hasn't always been easy, but I've found some tools that have been helping me navigate these shifts with more ease and positivity. One of the most powerful tools I’ve been using is the mindset I learned from the book The Gap and the Gain by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. This concept has helped me realize that too often, I’m focused on the "gap"—what’s missing, what I haven’t achieved yet—instead of celebrating the "gain"—how far I’ve come.
In this episode of the podcast, I share how I’ve been able to shift my thinking and why it’s been such a game changer for me.
Seeing the Gain Instead of the Gap
Before learning about The Gap and the Gain, I often caught myself focusing on what I hadn’t done, what still wasn’t "perfect," and how much further I had to go. But I’ve realized that this mindset was holding me back. Now, I consciously focus on my progress—on the "gain." It’s a simple, yet powerful, shift in perspective that has allowed me to feel more accomplished, less stressed, and more motivated.
I talk about this in the podcast because I know I’m not alone in this. So many of us get stuck in the "gap," feeling like we’re not enough or that we’re falling behind. But when we focus on the gain, we start to see our lives and our progress in a new, more positive light.
Energy Hygiene: Protecting My Peace
Another important change I’ve been making is working on my energy hygiene. This includes setting boundaries that help me preserve my energy and stay in a good mental space. One big shift? Putting my phone away an hour or two before bed. Scrolling through social media late at night was draining my energy and making it hard to wind down. Now, I focus on gratitude, often journaling before bed, which helps me reflect on the positive aspects of my day.
I also make time for self-care, something that has become non-negotiable during this time of change. Whether it’s cleaning up my house, eliminating clutter, or simply taking time to breathe, these small acts of self-care have helped me feel more in control and at peace.
How It's Helping My Life: Finances, Relationships & More
What’s amazing is how these shifts are impacting other areas of my life. My finances, relationships, and even my activewear business, Muve Life, are all benefiting. With more clarity and focus, I’m able to approach things with a more positive and proactive mindset. It feels like a domino effect—once I started focusing on the gain and cleaning up my energy, everything else started to fall into place.
If you’re going through a season of change or just feeling stuck, I hope my experiences can help you. It’s about making small shifts, staying present, and being kind to yourself along the way. Tune in to this episode, and let’s navigate these changes together.

Life has a way of surprising us, sometimes in ways we least expect. For over 13 years, I found comfort and stability in a job that provided financial security and a sense of routine. But deep down, I had a feeling that it was time to move on and create space for something new. I didn't act on this feeling, and as the universe often does, it made the decision for me. Losing my job was a shock, but it also presented an incredible opportunity to follow my true passions.
In the past month since leaving my job, I've experienced a whirlwind of emotions—sadness, uncertainty, excitement, and hope. The transition wasn't easy, but it pushed me to make decisions I had been procrastinating on for far too long. One of the biggest steps I've taken is organizing an event called Muve Fest 2024. It's going to be a day filled with activities that nourish the body, mind, and soul—everything from yoga, fitness, and stretching to sound baths and meditation. We've also invited local vendors to showcase their products, including my own Muve Life Activewear line.
Muve Fest 2024 will be held at the community center in my hometown of Mitchell, Ontario. It's an event designed to bring people together, inspire movement, and foster a sense of community. I encourage everyone to grab their tickets on www.muvelife.com, bring their friends and family, and join us for a day of fun and self-discovery.
This experience has reinforced the importance of having faith in the journey of life. Sometimes, we resist change because we're afraid of the unknown. But I've learned that letting go of what's familiar can open doors to new and exciting possibilities. It's a leap of faith, but it's worth it. My podcast and Muve Life Activewear are my passions, and I'm excited to devote more time and energy to them.
I hope my story inspires you to trust the process and follow your heart, even when the path ahead seems uncertain. Remember, sometimes the universe has a way of guiding us to where we need to be. Embrace the journey, have faith, and keep moving forward.

Welcome back to the Muve Forward Podcast! In today’s episode, we have the pleasure of speaking with the incredible Deirdre Slattery. Deirdre's story is one of resilience, positivity, and embracing change, and I am thrilled to share it with you.
A Life of Change and Intuition
Deirdre Slattery is a beacon of resilience, positivity, and independence. As a single mother, she faced numerous challenges head-on, raising her daughter in Stratford, Ontario. Her journey is a testament to the power of listening to what the universe guides us to do and be. Now, Deirdre lives part of the year in the Dominican Republic, escaping the cold Canadian winters. She has found a new rhythm in life, balancing her time between the serene beaches of the Dominican Republic and the familiar comforts of Ontario.
Empowering Women
One of the most rewarding aspects of Deirdre's work is helping women transform their fitness journeys. She empowers them to take back their health and wellness, guiding them with the same principles of nutrition, exercise, and a healthy mindset that she applies to her own life. Her work as a coach is not just about physical transformation but about empowering women to embrace their best selves and live fulfilling lives.
A Personal Note
Before we dive into the episode, you may have noticed that I haven't been as consistent with releasing episodes since I started Muve Life, my activewear brand. However, now that I have more time on my hands, you can expect more frequent episodes. I would greatly appreciate it if you could leave a glowing review on Apple Podcast or wherever you listen to your podcasts. Your support helps attract advertisements and book amazing guests. Thank you in advance!
Conclusion
Join us in this episode as Deirdre Slattery shares her insights on living in the Dominican Republic, empowering women, and embracing change. Her story is not just about personal transformation but also about the impact we can have on others when we follow our intuition and make courageous choices. I hope this conversation will inspire you to make the changes you are being guided to make now rather than waiting for the universe to force you to change.
