Captain de Surville has devised a plan to sail to New Zealand, last found by Tasman 127 years ago, to save his dying crew. However, for the first time since the voyage began he wanted a second opinion from Labé. Before we talk about what Labé thought about this plan, we need jump back to the meeting in Chandernagore in January 1769 to explain what they were even dying for.
