Interview: Jeremy Adams talks Aquaman with John Timms on art:

"Aquaman’s powers are evolving in this new series — can you give us more insight into how these new abilities will redefine Arthur’s role as a hero and his connection to the seas?"

"The solicitation teases mammoth water-construct Kaijus and the secrets of the 'blue.' What inspired this unique blend of mythology and high-stakes monster action?"

"Aquaman is dubbed a 'god killer' in the first issue. Can you unpack what that title means for his character arc and how it might affect his relationships and responsibilities?"

"It seems like Arthur is using monster-fighting as a way to escape his duties as king of Atlantis. How does this tension between responsibility and personal fulfillment shape the story?"

"Dagon is introduced as Arthur's guide on his journey. What can you tell us about this character, and how does he influence Aquaman’s path in this series?"

"Aquaman’s identity is often tied to his dual roles as a superhero and king. How does this series explore the balance — or imbalance — between those two worlds?"

"Will we ever see the series go full JL adventure, or is this strictly Aquaman solo missions?

"You’ve worked on iconic characters like the Flash and Green Lantern. How has your experience with those heroes informed your approach to writing Aquaman?"

"Aquaman often wrestles with themes of legacy, power, and belonging. What are some of the core themes you’re excited to explore in this new series?"

"What do you hope longtime fans of Aquaman, as well as new readers, take away from this fresh take on the King of Atlantis?"

    2. Last we spoke you talked about how you get bored easily and are always trying new things, is there anything that pops out to you that you did different with this issue?
    3. Have you been a lifelong Ninja Turtles fan? What was your first experience with the turtles?
    4. Can you take us through your issue #6 cover, with Raph fighting a foto clan on a motorcycle driving along Leo’s sword…like wow how did this idea come to be?
    5. The Turtles are together and back in New York in issue #6, would you say the city is a character in itself? How did you make it come alive?
    6. Is there anything tricky about drawing four characters that are similar, but also ever so slightly different, like how Donnie is skinny?
    7. You’re a master at the side-scrolling layouts, will we see more of those?
    8. Did Jason Aaron’s script challenge you in any surprising ways?
    9. Now that you’ve had a hand in drawing all these turtles, is there a particular one you wouldn’t mind taking on a solo book series?
    10. Spider-Man Noir, it already looks like they’re taking from your series, how pumped are you to potentially see your art on the big screen?
    11. With TMNT being a six-issue gig, can you tease what you’re working on next?

Diana Faces Her Biggest Challenge Yet – Motherhood???

Throughout her life, Wonder Woman has faced some of the biggest challenges imaginable. Now, following the events of DC’s game-changing Absolute Power, Diana embarks on her next great adventure – the birth of her daughter, Trinity!

    1. With the Absolute Power tie-in wrapped up, how does it feel to get back to your main story arc?
    2. What does Trinity mean to you, as far as her potential legacy for Wonder Woman and DC?
    3. Should we expect The Sovereign to show up, is he inherently tied to Trinity’s origin?
    4. I feel like, with the creation of Damian, DC Comics has sort of owned the aspect of child heroes, and so far you’ve seemed to tie Damian and Trinity quite a bit. Are they inherently important to each other?
    5. We’ve gotten to know Trinity via the wonderful backups with art by Belén Ortega, and notably absent are the adults. Might you be exploring where they went off to?
    6. Daniel, your art is so striking, the fight around the Washington monument is one of my favorite fights ever in comics! Extending from interiors, your covers are incredible too. How do you approach them to make them so striking, is there a starting point?
    7. Since we’re talking about birth, why do you think it’s important Wonder Woman was made of clay? Is there a symbolic reason?
    8. Tom, thoughts on Green Lantern casting news?

Interview: Interview: Absolute Superman - Jason Aaron

    1. Can you tell us about your vision for Absolute Superman? How does this series stand apart from previous Superman stories?
    2. When starting from scratch, so to speak, was it ever overwhelming figuring out what you wanted to use from the vast Superman tapestry?
    3. What themes are you most excited to explore with Superman in this series? Are there new facets of his personality or struggles you’re aiming to highlight?
    4. The concept of social class is a strong one in the first issue, why was that so important to this character?
    5. To be honest, the social class element made me immediately think of Batman, do you think your Superman would get along with Batman?
    6. What challenges have you faced in writing Superman (though not for the first time), a character often seen as the ultimate symbol of hope and morality?
    7. What would Absolute Superman think of main universe Superman, or vice versa?
    8. The first issue seems to suggest there’s some tweaks to Superman’s abilities, or maybe how he charges up. Was there a trial and error process of figuring out this Superman’s power set?
    9. Since you’ve been developing this series more or less alongside the Absolute Batman and Wonder Woman, did the development of those series influence your approach or take at all?
    10. Is there a panel or page Rafa blew you away?
    11. What’s your thoughts on the new Superman logo?

Creator Spotlight: Ryan North unpacks Star Trek, Fantastic Four, and more

Interview: Ryan North (STAR TREK LOWER DECKS/WARP YOUR OWN WAY out Oct 22, Fantastic Four, The Rise of Emperor Doom)

    1. Ryan, thanks for joining us on the AIPT Comics podcast for the second time! You’re having the nerdiest of years, with Star Trek Lower Decks/Warp Your Own Way out Oct 22nd, the ongoing Lower Decks #1 out November 13 and Fantastic Four cresting into a huge 2025 year, what has been your favorite nerd thing you created this year?
    2. STAR TREK LOWER DECKS/WARP YOUR OWN WAY is a choose-your-own adventure! What is the process of plotting something like this? Anything you learned from Hamlet or Romeo & Juliet that opened the way for new experimentation?
    3. About how many “storylines” can someone get out of the graphic novel?
    4. Maybe this is sacrilege to ask, but do you have a favorite ending for the graphic novel?
    5. Is the STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS ongoing series a direct continuation of the animated show, or taking place at a different period?
    6. I’ve heard that Heather Antos is basically an encyclopedia of Star Trek lore – how invaluable was it to have her as your editor on this project.
    7. Footnotes, you’re one of the best at them…how does it feel to have them return!?
    8. Without spoiling anything, Lower Decks #1 touches on a fun part of Trek’s past. Are there any corners of Trek that you haven’t explored in comics that you’d love to?
    9. There’s a lot of science in FF, does Star Trek Lower Decks let you stretch your science legs in different ways?
    10. You got to visit with the The Fantastic Four: First Steps cast, how long was the visit and how much did you get to see?
      1. Do you get a sense they’re sticking to the comics at all?
    11. Considering how much science is in your titles, will The Rise of Emperor Doom also be sciencey, or is it all magic all the time?
    12. How would the lower decks crew deal with Dr. Doom? Could they withstand his might?
