A new film photography podcast focusing mainly on ideas and projects rather than gear and more gear. It will be both solo shows from hosts Sven and Ian, and interviews with guests. Hopefully the episodes can be at least one hour (at least the interviews) because thats the length i personally love when im driving.
In this episode we chat with former guests, and get call-ins from those who couldt not chat live with us.
Hope you all enjoy and lets hope for a fantastic 2022!

In this episode I talk to Arild Båsmo, the founder of Valoi - a film holder system for scanning film. We talk mostly about troubleshooting DSLR-scanning, and Arild helps to clarify a few things along the way that might help you out when your Epson flatbed decides to call it a day.
Enjoy!
In this first episode of the new season, we chat to Hans Rosemond, who has inspired alot of analog shooters through his youtube channel over the years. I knew i had to talk to him as soon as i saw his videos on Kallitype printing. We chat about life and stuff at first, and then switch to alternative printing. Hope to chat even more with Hans some day! Enjoy the season opening!
In this episode, Ian cobbles together audio recordings made over a period of a month that describe his experience of attending a street/reportage photography course.
It's been an eventful month, that kicked off with a photography workshop, followed by a knee operation and an aborted trip to northern Italy. As the dust settled, it was finally time to put together my thoughts on the course and share them with you.
You can see my pictures from the day here: https://barnabynutt.com/2020/02/22/dublin-street-photography/

A short recording from a forest, by a holy well, in County Kerry.
In it, Ian talks about his two favourite photography podcasts, neither of which are about gear!
They are:
1. Grant Scott's A Photographic Life - for his latest book, mentioned in the show, click here
2. Ben Smith's A Small Voice, Conversations with Photographers

And yes, the background sound in that final wrap-up piece is the next named storm (Dennis) beating against the windows as I recorded...
Welcome to episode 22. It's the first time that Svein and I have had a chat for almost 4 months, and we update on what we've been upto in the intervening period, and our upcoming plans for exhibitions.
We also launch PUSHED, a collaborative project to share a bulk roll of Agfa APX400 film to photographers around the world to use and enjoy. Everyone's favourite pictures will end up in a zine. It's like the Kodak 2238 project that you'll have heard about on the show previously, the difference being, and the only limitation on your use of the film, is that all pictures have to be pushed.
Drop us a message on Flickr (the link is below), via the Anchor app or though our socials and we'll put together a list of the first twenty shooters that respond and take it from there.
Where possible, we'll try to make the whole thing FREE to those taking part - we might just need a little help with postage.
Anyway, let us know before March 15th if you'd like to get on board or if you have any questions...
(Yes, it really is FREE FILM!)

In this episode, Ian records his first solo interview, making his debut with a Pulitzer Prize winner no less!
He speaks with Cathal McNaughton about his life and career (so far) as a photojournalist, his thoughts on 'fake news' and the changing state of the news media. You can also enjoy his Irish pronunciation of 'film'.
Cathal McNaughton is a multi-award-winning photojournalist currently based in Ireland. After winning the Pulitzer Prize in 2018 for his coverage of the Rohingya refugee crisis in Myanmar and Bangladesh, Cathal relocated back to Ireland where he is continuing his work documenting people and places.
Previously Cathal was chief photographer for Reuters in India and has travelled extensively in Asia covering news stories of world importance. He also worked for Reuters in Europe, the Press Association and The Daily Telegraph - and his work regularly features in leading publications across the globe.
Cathal’s photography has won him major accolades including POYI, U.K Press Photographer of the Year, Royal Photographer of the Year and Environmental Photographer of the Year. His work capturing the struggle of the exiled Rohingya Muslims saw him awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Photography in New York in 2018.
Cathal leads master classes, workshops and conferences in universities and travels worldwide talking about the role of the media in divided societies, and the importance of factual journalism in the world of social media.

Thanks to Cathal for taking the time to speak to us and allowing us to use one of his images for the episode's artwork.
We hope that you're enjoying the mix of episodes that we're releasing at the moment - interviews, field reports and occasionally, even the two of us on the same show at the same time! As usual, let us have your feedback and ideas of what you'd like to see on the show. As long as it fits our brief of being more about projects, ideas and motivations rather than gear, we'd love to hear them.

In this episode we get to talk to Ava Silvery (aka Akosua Viktoria Adu-Sanyah) about life as a working creative and running a youtube channel. Hopefully this is just the first episode of many with Ava as it was a super fun conversation and very interesting.
