We talk about the heartbreak of losing a partner, but we rarely talk about the "Secondary Loss" that happens when the people you called family suddenly turn their backs. For years, you shared holidays, good times, and milestones with them only to be treated like a stranger the moment the relationship ends.
When you are the one who was betrayed, the silence from your in-laws and “friends” feels like a second abandonment, which it is. It’s a layered trauma that forces you to grieve not just a marriage, but an entire village.

This episode features a powerful conversation with Erica Navarro who navigated a 27-year marriage marked by nearly a decade of gaslighting and betrayal.
Despite being the primary breadwinner and enduring years of psychological manipulation, Erica emerged from her divorce in January 2025 with her financial stability intact and, more importantly, her peace of mind.
We dive deep into the mechanics of long-term gaslighting, the unique pressure of being a female provider in a betraying relationship, and the radical act of private forgiveness as a tool for personal liberation.

Whether you left or they did, watching your ex jump quickly into another relationship is never easy. It can make you feel like your relationship didn't matter—and the worst part is when they go back to the life they had before you. Living in the same apartment building, seeing them live that old life except you’ve been replaced.
You find yourself comparing, wondering why you couldn't make them happy when this new person seemingly can. Or, maybe you just want them to suffer because you’re suffering. Either way, you can get stuck in a cycle of anger and resentment that isn't a good look. Today, we’re going to make sure that doesn't happen, because you deserve better than to allow this person to have that kind of control over how you feel about yourself.

When life changes and you can’t control what’s happening, most of us go straight into resistance. Accepting what is isn’t easy especially when you’re knee-deep in pain.
What happens for a lot of people is they get stuck. Stuck in the anger. Stuck in the bitterness. Stuck replaying the story over and over in their minds, trying to figure it out, trying to make it make sense. And because they can’t accept what happened, they never fully move forward.
But acceptance doesn’t mean you like what happened. It doesn’t mean it was okay. And it definitely doesn’t mean someone gets off the hook.
It simply means you soften the internal battle that’s making your healing harder than it needs to be.
In todays podcast we are going to disucss it all! Thanks for listening!

If you grew up in an environment where you had to carry weight that wasn't yours, you might be experiencing Responsibility Trauma. In this podcast, we dive deep into why some of us feel a constant, heavy obligation to fix everyone else’s problems and why it’s so hard to finally put that weight down.

If you feel wiped out after a breakup or divorce, it makes sense. Losing a relationship can take more out of you than people realize.
This isn’t just heartbreak. It’s emotional burnout.
You didn’t just lose a person. You lost routines, safety, future plans, and the version of life you thought you were building. On top of that, you’re still expected to function like nothing happened.
This is about what happens when that weight finally catches up to you and how you can begin to heal when you’re running on empty.

I know we all want to think everyone else is the problem, but they are not. I know this is going to trigger some people. That is not to say that you are the reason for the treatment you got — NO!
But if you saw their red flags and didn’t run, that’s your problem. If you had low expectations because of what you’ve been through, not your fault… but it kind of is.
Today, we are going to start the first step toward healing, and that is figuring out what needs to change so this doesn’t happen to you again.
